Big oh hell no from me as a blanket policy. How can this even work? What happens when a student needs to be evaluated for new concerns or as part of their triennial evaluation?
While it could be appropriate and even at times more effective for the teacher to work on goals related to speech, OT and PT- I would expect the required evals be done by the professional and for the teacher to have the on-going support of the professional who did the eval and set the goals/benchmarks.
But a 2 week training is no replacement for a masters or higher in those areas. I might seek a professional advocate to help draft goals that can only be met working with a professional. I might also request an IEE at some point.
TBH, if I had a child who would likely need an IEP through graduation, I'd consider moving to a better district.
