DD and I have been up for nearly an hour. She's taking forever to eat, plus we've had 2 diaper changes. I'd rather her nurse than me have to pump so I shouldn't complain.

DD just slept for a 6 hour chunk! Woot! She was fussy last night and we're now in the middle of our marathon motn nursing session (she'll eat for an hour, then take 30 mins to settle), but if it means a big chunk of sleep, I'll take it.
Um. My baby just slept 4 straight hours?? I woke him up to change his diaper and feed him. We used a pacifier last night when he got rooty after eating, and then I played this "pink noise for 10 hours" video on YouTube. Don't know if that played a factor but it may have! It's the first time I used a white noise to help with sleep. Here's hoping I can finish this feeding and get him back down for another 3+ hour stretch!!!
Congrats on getting some sleep seadragon2013 and mosdub! It's amazing how just an extra hour or two of uninterrupted sleep makes you feel like a new person!

sterl724 I've been ignoring the weight ranges and changing based on when she outgrows the absorbancy. Usually around the same time they've been getting too tight. She's in size 2 and has been for a couple weeks. But she is just 12 lbs this week (6) which is the lower threshold for size 2.

DS1 woke up just after LO around 1:30 and DH brought him into our bed. Then DS1 woke up crying at 4 complaining of his leg and foot hurting. DS2 woke at 5:30 to eat and of course DS1 heard/felt us get up. So, we're up for the day I guess... I'm so looking forward to nap time!
C is being super cuddly this morning. I desperately want to go back to sleep for a couple hours, but he's being good and snuggly.
Question: at what weight do you change from newborn you size 1 diapers? I feel like we might be getting close, but I have no idea.
B has been in 1s for at least 2 weeks or so. I believe he was close to nine or so pounds when we made the switch. At the rate he's growing we will probably be in 2s within the next couple of weeks as the ones already seem to be getting a little tight. I tend to like to start on the lower end of the weight threshold to avoid any leak issues. He will be six weeks on Monday.

sterl724 we just committed to size 1's yesterday. I've been testing them for about a week because a couple weeks ago I thought she was ready and poop leaked out because they weren't tight enough around her thighs. I want to say she's close to 9lbs if she's not already 9lbs. She was 8.5lbs last Friday and her 3 month clothes are fitting better.

DS is still asleep. He must have been exhausted because he went to sleep so quickly that DH didn't fall asleep while putting him to bed lol. DD is up though. She's just chilling on my lap enjoying wearing some clothes from her new selection of outfits since 3 month things fit now. I'm more excited about this than I should be.
I hate diaper sizing! We primarily use cloth, but I do not want to open a box of 1s if we will be needing 2s before we run out. Actually gives me anxiety. Ridiculous I know.
I hate this too. Especially because I just set my subscribe and save to get a box of 1s. That reminds me that I need to check the last date when I can change it so that I don't end up with a box of 1s I don't need all while needing a big box of 2s.
So glad you got some rest seadragon2013 and mosdub. We use white noise for all our kiddos. (It actually helps me sleep, too, though I don't use it bc I want to be able to hear the older ones since they don't have monitors.)
moutonrouge I hope she maintains that pattern for you!
landonsmom15 that sounds like a rough night. Early nap?
erinshelley21 I understand the excitement! Our NB stuff was bland (team green), but we went out and bought a few cute 3 mo outfits and I couldn't wait to use them!
Dd always seems so have one wake up a night where she just can't settle back down after she eats and were up for an hour and a half or two.
This also lately seems to correspond with random outbursts of crying. I'm wondering if she has some reflux? I was thinking maybe it was from my afternoon cup of coffee, so I cut that out yesterday. Last night was a little better maybe.

Have any of you been to a Just Between Friends consignment sale? MH and I are checking it out for the first time tomorrow then heading into the Chicago area for some other shopping. Hopefully we'll find some good deals!
sterl724 we made the switch when she was 8 lbs., which I think is the lower end for size 1. The reason I switched was it seemed tight around her belly and they were leaking all the time.
We returned the carseat mirror we got at the shower, since carseat was originally going in middle and there was no headrest to attach it to. Now carseat is on the passenger side and I have a spot for a mirror. Is the mirror worth it? And how about a screen shade?
Mirror yes! I can't imagine not being able to see my kids. My toddler likes being able to see us, too.
We didn't have much luck with screen shades - they maybe helped 10-20% of the time. Then Elena started playing with them and tearing them down anyway.

We switched to size ones when Max peed through two NB diapers in a row.
Now I'm about to switch to size two because we're nearly out of size ones and I know we won't use a whole 'nother box of that size.
I cloth diaper at home but use disposables out and about, and at night. This kid pees so much at night it's actually impressive sometimes. But garsh he's cute in his cloth.

My subscribe and save is why I asked...today is our last day to change, and I'm thinking we don't need another box of 128 newborn diapers. Baby hasn't been weighed in awhile, but I'm sure he's 8 lbs or close. We have a box of 1s..guess I can try one and see.
My concern though is the he's very long and lean. (Newborn size pants are super baggy at the waist...his dad is super skinny like that too!)

We have both. (We registered for both and got them.) I like the mirror, because C usually sleeps in his carseart, and can sometimes be a noisy sleeper. The window shade is nice when it's super bright.

. I like the mirror because I can see if she's asleep or just how upset she is. I have sunshades on the window next to her, but we have a hatchback and sun comes in the little window. So a lot of times I will put my breastfeeding cover or a blanket over her carseat, which means the mirror and the shade are pretty pointless.

I HATE dealing with medical insurance crap and bills. Why do insurance companies make it impossible to understand what you're being charged for?! I'm going to have to spend half the day on the phone trying to figure out these stupid claims for B. HATE IT!
Who's baby had their shots already? My babe gets his tomorrow morning and of course like usual, I'm freaking out. How was it? Were they miserable for the rest of the day? Better by night time?
I am still traumatized by his screams from getting his tongue tie clipped.
I'm worried because he doesn't really nurse for comfort when he is upset and doesn't like any pacifier I have. I don't know how I would be able to comfort him immediately other than holding him and talking to his.

I've never had a mirror for the same reason I've never had a video monitor. I would spend allllll of my time staring at the monitor and same goes for the mirror. Which is not something I should be doing while driving. I can see the sun shade being worth it though.

mikaela20 I got lucky with my toddler and whenever he had shots that's when we were able to try new things and he found comfort in them. I say after shots, wrap him in a blanket, snuggle him for a minute and give nursing a try. If that doesn't work, give a pacifier or two a try. Or do it the other way around.
