We returned the carseat mirror we got at the shower, since carseat was originally going in middle and there was no headrest to attach it to. Now carseat is on the passenger side and I have a spot for a mirror. Is the mirror worth it? And how about a screen shade?
Who's baby had their shots already? My babe gets his tomorrow morning and of course like usual, I'm freaking out. How was it? Were they miserable for the rest of the day? Better by night time?
I am still traumatized by his screams from getting his tongue tie clipped.
I'm worried because he doesn't really nurse for comfort when he is upset and doesn't like any pacifier I have. I don't know how I would be able to comfort him immediately other than holding him and talking to his.
Both my kids had a shot and like, one million foot pricks by this age and DD also doesn't take a paci. I'd do some skin to skin and talking or singing.
Ime, they are usually ok in a few min. My kids actually sleep hard for a while after shots. I assume because of all the new stuff their body is getting used to.

I HATE dealing with medical insurance crap and bills. Why do insurance companies make it impossible to understand what you're being charged for?! I'm going to have to spend half the day on the phone trying to figure out these stupid claims for B. HATE IT!
Do your EOBs list the CPT codes? You can Google them pretty readily.

Max cried for 10 seconds, then was fine. He was a little fussy for the day, mostly he woke up pretty sad from naps. Mid-afternoon, (shots were in the morning) he wouldn't settle after waking up at all, so I gave him a dose of Tylenol. He was fine the rest of the day and no meds overnight.
We switched to size 1's like 3 weeks ago, when he was maybe 9 lbs. But he was getting a pretty bad diaper rash, so we went up in diapers and started letting him air out after each change, to be honest they were a little big at first but it worked.
He looks like he'll need to switch to size 2's soonish. He's probably about 11-12 lbs now.
Thanks for feedback on the diapers. I changed our amazon order to 1s.
We use subscribe and save for diapers. Any other suggestions of things you use subscribe and save for? I feel like we should take more advantage of it!

Up feeding DD all night, she kept popping on and off but wouldn't settle any other way. I'm craving some space since I had no break all night and both kids were all over me from the time DS got up this morning.

For baby: wipes, vitamins, diaper cream, disposable changing pad liners
For us/the house: laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trashbags, toothbrushes, most of our toiletries and shower stuff, viatmins, granola bars, windshield wipers...
We were having such a nice morning until I asked DS to get his shoes on. Why are shoes the enemy?
Does he have options? Like he can be a big kid and be in charge of it? Put a different spin on it?
Fin is giving me a run for my money with getting dressed and shoes on, but as soon as I let her have some control she loves it and complies much easier!
I'm usually flexible on what shoes he can wear, but not today. He wanted to wear crocs but it's colder out today and he's got an event tonight where tennis shoes would be better that my SIL is taking him too for me.
We are team mirror + sun shade over here. We didn't use the shades until the twins started complaining about the sun. We just took them down because they were worn out and now I'm thinking we will use those covers, they look awesome!
DD2 napped in her crib for 90 mins this morning! So that's a win.
H was supposed to bring the toddler to a gym class this morning so I'd have an hour alone w/ the baby. I gave him a 20 min warning before he needed to leave to be on time (I usually give us 20-25 mins to get out of the house); he said "yeah we'll leave in 5-10 mins"..to which I reminded him it takes longer than that to leave, but he disagreed. Well, DD1 threw a fit b/c we asked her to clean up her toys, and they're no longer going b/c they were going to be too late (shocking). I (nicely..ish) said "for future reference, this is why I give us extra time to leave the house.." and he is now pissed off and getting ready to go to the gym. So instead of giving me alone time, he's leaving me with both kids while he goes and works out. On top of he is leaving tomorrow to go to a bachelor party at a casino for the night. So I'm thrilled right now (sarcasm).
sterl724, when I think I'm getting close to changing, I just order one box of the next size up. If I need any more of the current size, I just go to Target for a small pack or a box.
I use S&S for everything that others mentioned. My goal is to get everything that I would normally buy at the grocery store except food on S&S delivery. Sometimes you have to compromise on the brand, and I always give it a try. Sometimes I find a new brand I like better, but sometimes I end up going back to the old brand and purchasing outright.
kaits8, that sounds exactly like something that would happen in my house. No advice, but sorry you don't get a break.
kaits8 it sounds like your H is throwing a fit because he was wrong. That's frustrating.
Exactly. I was so tempted to be like 'just tell me I was right and get over it", but I knew that wouldn't help. He said he was going to go to the gym when dd1 took her nap, but I told him that wouldn't be any more helpful to me and please just go. Instead he sat on the couch on his phone while I nursed the baby, fed the toddler lunch then colored with her, then started nap time (my first time doing nap by myself with both kids). When I got out of dd1's room (successfully, I might add!) he was gone. I also think he's frustrated b/c he's exhausted and struggling to parent b/c of this but he knows I get half the amount of sleep he gets and am still functioning. I'm considering taking both girls out after nap time to give H some time to sleep, play video games, or whatever, but there's a good chance that would just piss him off more. Men are such weenies sometimes!

According to my totally unscientific method of weighing him (weighing myself holding him then weighing myself) I think B is close to 12 lbs! Holy moly!

I was hoping I could get DD to take a nap before we went to the viewing for my uncle but it's a no go. Hopefully she'll nap while being held there. She's going to get passed around like a hot potato I think.
Plus side to H leaving me to do nap time alone? I was able to nurse dd2 to sleep and both girls have been sleeping for the last hour and I just got to catch up on last night's episode of Scandal!
Guys. I bought a Swaddle Up for Jack to nap in. I told myself I would not be buying any more baby items, but I am terrified of him being addicted to a swaddle in addition to his pacifier.
So my train of thought was tight Swaddle Me at night and the Swaddle Up for crib naps, maybe easier transition down the road. I don't know, I'm grasping at straws.
Well...
THIS THING IS AMAZING! He has gone down drowsy without a pacifier for the past 2 days worth of naps. I didn't want to say anything yesterday and jinx it, but I'm calling it!
@justinslovo, we just bought one too! We realized dd preferred being swaddled with her hands by her face but that made trying to nurse while swaddled impossible so we went out and bought a Swaddle Up a couple days ago. Definitely worth the investment!
I had a mirror with DD, but it always fell down so I gave up on it. We had a sun shade in DH's truck. We have a new truck now, so not sure what we will do.
I will be venturing out this afternoon to take the cat to the vet for his annual appointment. I will wear DS and carry the cat in his carrier. Before I was pregnant, I didn't see the value of baby wearing. Now, I can't imagine not wearing, especially when taking both kids out. It is so much easier than hauling the car seat most of the time.
I got to the gym and realized I brought headphones that don't match my phone (damn iPhone 7!). And I started jogging and realized I should be wearing another sports bra. Damn it. At least I tried.
