We're up a little early for us this morning. Started feeding C last night for his last feeding before putting him down. He kept falling asleep on the first boob, and then seriously passed out before the second. Like asleep to the point I actually just put him to bed. I knew he'd be up earlier in the motn, but he actually slept longer than I expected. (He had a bit of a meltdown prior to that last feeding while I attempted a bath. I think he wore himself out.)
Question for today: what time do you put LO down for the night? What do you consider bedtime? I'm trying to get C on mute of a routine, but sometimes he goes down around ten, and sometimes it's 11/11:30.
Got 3.5 hrs sleep and need more. DS slept in his crib for 1.5hrs and we've been up every since. He is wide awake, whyyyyy. Just when I thought we were in a good MOTN routine, this happened.
sterl724 I also want to start a routine but my guy doesn't sleep longer than 2 hour stretches so I don't know how we will establish a bedtime yet. He eats when he is hungry and sleeps when he is tired right now. I wish he would sleep longer MOTN.
sterl724 - we do a bedtime of between 8:30 and 9, but that's because baby is still sleeping in my bed so he goes when I go. I hope to move him out on his own around 8 weeks (what I did with DS1) and at that point I'll shoot for a bedtime of about 7:30. With DS1, we had a good routine of bath/book/song/nurse to sleep that worked for us.
Dd2 slept last night! 930-1, 130-330, 4-now! Granted H turned her Dream Glider on to swing before bed and I've been trying to avoid using the swinging motion but I so needed the sleep so I'll take it.
sterl724 dd1 went to bed around 10 as a newborn, and dd2 has been somewhere around 9-10 so far but it depends on what her sleep was like leading up to bed (she's only 3 weeks old though so it's still very much up in the air and just survival more for me). I don't remember at what age we were able to start moving dd1s bedtime to a normal time (now 7-730 at 21 months and has been since well before 1 year).
Oh and as far as bedtime routine I'm all about the bath. DD seems to love a bath and she sleeps really well afterwards so we do bath, bottle, swaddle, bed.
I guess the swaddle will change to bath, pjs, bottle, bed soon though.

We've always let DS kind of set his own bedtime and I hope we can do the same with DS. As a baby he naturally went to bed around 7 or 7:30 and did that until 2.5 or so. He now goes to bed closer to 8:30. Its later than my preference but bedtime was taking 45 minutes when we were doing it at 7:30 still and now it takes 5-10.

I need to get in the shower so I can go to work for a bit but I don't wanna. I'm really enjoying this break from work and do not want it to end in a week or so. I'm sure I would feel different if DD was a really fussy baby but she's been a dream.
DS has his 3 year checkup today. Do they get any shots at the three year appointment? If so it's going to suck trying to hold him down because he's half my height and a fourth my weight.
We will need nurse reinforcement if he gets any shots.
mikaela20 it was probably just a one off. J is pretty good and in a routine most nights, and then we have a night like Friday. We all were basically up all night....
sterl724 we do 10:30 pm. This will likely be too late soon, but for now it works mainly bc she eats right before that every night, and that's what time we go to bed. She's not wild about sleeping in a room by herself, so for now, we let her hang with us til we go to bed.
DD has her 2 month appointment today! I'm nervous about the shots, but also excited to be less nervous about her not being vaccinated. I also am curious to see how much she's grown. After, my Mom is coming over and I'm working out. I'm really kind of dreading it...but just in the lazy "It's hardddd" kind of way. So no cancelling.
mikaela20 hope the bad sleep was a one night fluke!
kaits8 sometimes, you just have to use what works so you can get some sleep!
. sorry you tripped - hope you feel better. Also, I don't think the doc will give you a hard time. You are doing what works for you and your baby. (And my attitude with combo feeding/supplementing is that it's the best of both worlds. Still getting bm and its benefits, but also getting the convenience of formula when needed. I combo feed, and felt really guilty at first. Now it's just what works for us, and no matter what you decide, nobody else can tell you what is right or wrong for you and your baby.)
glb30 good luck with the shots. Hope they are quick and baby takes them well!

B goes down between 8:30 and 9 right now based on the MOC typical schedule. I'd like to get him to 7:30pm sooner rather than later so he and DD are at the same time. It'll be easier when he's old enough to bathe with DD. But for now, it works. We do bath, book/song, nurse, swaddle, crib and turn on the white noise. Again, all according to MOC.

DS got a shot at his 3yo appt but it was his flu shot.

MOC is the best. Next Monday we move up to the 8-16 week schedule and I'm so excited to have both kids in bed at 7:30.

DD has an 8pm bedtime. She hates baths and being naked, so I've just been doing diaper change, swaddle, feed in our bed in the dark, and then into her crib. We've had maybe 1 night where I needed to redo it, so it's been pretty successful so far. The rest of her day is not as scheduled.

It's gotten cold and DD was up a lot last night. I ended up bringing her into our bed at 5:30 to will her into sleeping longer. She's nursing now and then hopefully we can nap for a long stretch.
mikaela20 was your DS fussy after? I'm not so much worried about the shots, and I don't want to see her not feeling well. 😢
Not fussy and no fever but he did have a higher than normal temp all day and he was really sucky with me so we cuddled alot that day. No reaction on the shot sites either so he did really well with them all.
My pants seriously need to be hemmed but i didn't fully realize until I got to work. Guess who stapled the hem of their pants so they wouldn't drag? Ffmc?
This isn't the first time I have done this either. :B

DD only woke up once last night, but my big kid woke up 3 times. He was such a good sleeper before baby, but has really regressed this past month. Ugh.
DH went back to work today, so it's just me and the kids. So far, so good. I think DD and I will hit up Starbucks and the grocery store after dropping DS off at preschool. 🙂
