DS2 is 7.5 months old. I EBF and have been completely DF for six months. I was able to discontinue his nexium about a month ago, because it seemed he had outgrown the reflux.
I gave him 4 oz. of milk that was frozen prior to me cutting out dairy on Saturday and Sunday. No screaming or gas pains and normal poop. But, he's been spitting up frequently. He doesn't seem in pain, but just a lot of spitting up. He also has wanted to BF every hour and was up a ton last night, which is what he did when his reflux was bad.
Would you: A) consider this a fail. Stop the dairy bottles and try again later. B) continue giving the bottles for a few more days to see what happens C) continue for now, but start him back on nexium?

Personally, I would stop and try again another time. I would assume the spitting up is a sign that LO is still sensitive. The gross poops sometimes take some time to show up bc it is inflammation of the intestines that causes it.

Thanks TJ. I think you are right. I hadn't given him any more today, but he had a really gross poop this afternoon. He's also really fussy, and he screamed and arched his back until he finally threw up. So, no dairy for now. 😔

Sorry. I know that sucks.
It does. I was already dreaming of cheese fries and milkshakes.

This. Tumble-tot is 10.5mo and I just tried having a little dairy and he reacted the same way, so I'm trying again after one. Sorry you're also still off dairy!

Sorry to agree with everyone... but I'm here to agree with everyone It really bites -- being dairy free when you're not used to it is such a drag. Are you still off soy, too?

Our pedi told us to start with the frozen milk at 6 months and try once a month until he doesn't have a reaction. It took me until 7.5 months to get the nerve to try it...now I think I will just wait until closer to a year to try again. It's just not worth it. 😔
