Hi everyone!
I've been lurking since I found out but wanted to wait until my u/s earlier this week before jumping in. I'm cakewench (asoneill for tagging purposes); I'm 35 and 6w6d pregnant with our first, EDD December 15 (Episode VIII day, which makes this pair of nerds super happy!).
Backstory: I was actually on the TTC board about 2 years ago, but stepped away when H and I had to take a break from trying while I went through some physical therapy. Plus I'm way over-involved with my community theatre group and never had time to post because of rehearsals. We started IF treatment last June and had three straight unsuccessful IUIs. We took a month off before starting the IVF process and had our retrieval in early December. We got 9 eggs, 7 fertilized, and eventually we ended up with 2 mature embryos. We opted for the PGS testing and both came back normal right after Christmas. Unfortunately, the first FET didn't work. We transferred the second embryo at the end of March and here we are!
I've had some spotting (including one episode last week where H thought we were going to be out), so that's been scary. Everything is fine, though, and we saw the heartbeat on Monday. I'm just trying to take it easy, stay positive, and be as healthy as possible (overweight mom here). Also exhausted, nausea is starting to become more regular, and I smell ALL the things.
Looking forward to May 19 when I can stop taking the estrogen and PIO shots, which are necessary but a literal pain in the ass. We will wait a week or two after I go off the meds before telling the world at large, though our immediate families and a few close friends know.
Really excited to be a part of this group, if you'll have me!
