We have playdate plans with my friend, her 3 yo, and her 3 week old. I'm gonna get to hold that squish for so long.
Obviously O was super excited for our plans today so he's been up since 4:27am. FFFC: I put the monitor on silent and slept until 6. I kept waking up to check on him but there was zero way I was getting up then unless something was wrong.
It's yet ANOTHER gloomy, cold, rainy day here, so W and I are starting it off snuggling and watching Mickey Mouse for now. Later I need to motivate us to get some laundry and grocery shopping done, but then after nap time we're having a Cinco de Mayo get together with some of my sorority sisters, so I'm super excited for that!
Morning, E was up at 5:45 like he is every single morning. Kid needs to learn the beauty of sleeping in. I don't upright parent before 6:30 on the weekends so luckily H was getting ready for work and brought E into our bed so he could watch videos and I got another 30 mins of rest.
Not sure what the plans are for today. Need to run to the post office and get my house back in order from the week, but that's about it. Happy Friday everyone!
I got the hall decorated last night with my decorating crew, and got some little errands I needed done for the weekend walking around town in the morning, I am finally feeling like today should be a bit more relaxing for me as I just need to let the photographer in later this afternoon to set up the photo booth and have our final pre-event meeting just to touch base with everyone!
It's supposed to be even hotter today than yesterday (and we got to wear shorts outside for the first time yesterday!!) so I'm thinking I'll set the sprinkler up for the kids today and they will be very happy little humans.

Preparing for operation "big girl room" and I clearly don't have a magical unicorn child who stays in their (big) bed and waits for an adult to take them out😩
Why does J15 say about one of those childproof door levers so she can't come out of her room on her own? She's RIGHT next to the stairs and has to pass them to come into our room. We have a gate, but I don't really like the thought of her wandering into any of the other bedrooms up here while we don't know either🤷🏼♀️

We're doing Cinco de Mayo at my house tonight. We're having friends over for tacos, margaritas, and beer. I'm going to make guacamole and pick up cupcakes and cake pops for the kids from the Mexican bakery.

This is why W will be in his crib until about age 13. His room is right by the stairs. We actually took the gate down a few weeks ago when we painted our stairway, but even putting it back up isn't the best solution. A baby gate in front of his door means we can't shut it, and lever door handles. A friend suggest swapping the handle to a knob one that you can baby proof easier until he's older when we eventually do have to make the switch.
Morning! Rainy and gloomy here so that sucks but we have a fun weekend coming up so I'm focusing on that!
Tonight I'm taking the boys to family swim with our usual Friday playdate family. It will be interesting seeing how I can wrangle two kids in the water. DS2 hasn't been in a pool since last summer so I'm super excited to see how he does. DS can totally swim on his own but he's a little apprehensive. I'm hoping having his older friend there will help him gain a little confidence.
Then Saturday we have our hotel night! Woot woot! H and I will do some planning tonight on what all we need to bring and what food we will get and what drinks we will mix. Looking forward to our little staycation!

I put a doorknob cover on the inside of the room for DS. He would just find something long and skinny and stick it into the hole of the cover and pop it off. Kid is an amazing escape artist. But I would totally do it, or a baby gate as @akwild suggested. If you get a small cheap-o wooden one it should fit in the door jamb just fine and you'll still be able to close the door.
I just realized on Wednesday L was officially the same age DS was when she was born. That is a very strange realization. She's now older than he was, crazy!!! How fast did THAT go?!
Also, we've been outside since 8:15am and it's already hot hot out. Glorious. We built snowmen last week guys.
I'm so freaking glad it's finally Friday and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.
Our floors were supposed to be finished today, but apparently the maker of the oil top coat that we chose was sent in the wrong color. So that's been pushed to Monday, which sucks, but hopefully that and the kitchen will all be completely finished by the end of next week! They did install our perimeter countertops yesterday, so at least there's that.
This weekend is our downtown wine festival. I won't be able to drink, because I'm pregnant, but it should still be fun. I'd also like to go see Guardians of the Galaxy and go cherry picking but we should probably also get some work done at the house too. Our new doors have been installed for a few weeks now, I think, and we still need to paint them. Plus we still haven't painted the back half of the house and since the weather should be really moderate this weekend, it'd be a good time to get that done. We'll see!

I'm at work, trying to get out some applications, real exciting stuff over here.
It's raining cats and dogs, so lunch will be a salad delivery. I feel bad because the delivery guy comes by bike, so I'll probably tip a little more.
I took a Crossfit class on Wednesday and the only body part that is sore is my forearms. What the fucking fuck, I don't want my forearms to get thinner.
Thanks guys! I was apprehensive to share before my first appointment, but I've been having the same symptoms I did with Gianna so it's starting to feel really real now
holliberry28 What kind of exercises did you do at crossfit? Maybe the rest of your body is just already super strong and you're gonna have buff forearms in no time

This time around we did dead lifts, and a lot of kettle ball swings and ring rows. I think it was the last two that did it.

Haven't read any further down but I have a baby gate in C's doorway. He can open his door if need be but can't actually get out. (His room location sounds like hers with the stairs right outside of the bedroom door. Stairs are also gated.)
