DS has a fever, has been throwing up all morning and will only drink juice, he won't even eat Popsicles or frozen berries. This is a first for us, do you think I should take him to the doctors or just continue to give him a fever reducer and juice and he'll eventually eat when he gets hungry enough? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I probably would not go to the doctor, or I would call the nurse line and ask. Food is optional for a few days, so if he's drinking and peeing, that's all you need. Give him some pedialyte or gatoraide. You might just encounter something else at the doctor's office and it's been a short time. If it persists or there are worse symptoms, then I would go.

My doctor said that drinking is the most important. As long as he is having a wet diaper every three hours, he should be good. I would touch base with the nurse's line, just to be safe and get a game plan. It's great he is drinking juice.

Ok, thanks. Good point about encountering something worse at the doctor's office. It's been such a long day I can hardly think straight :/

I am sorry your LO isn't feeling well! I wouldn't worry about no food unless it goes on for several days straight of eating absolutely nothing. Keeping hydrated in way more important so as long as he's keeping fluids down and having the same number of wet diapers I wouldn't worry yet. If he can't keep anything down or his wet diapers decrease definitely call the doctor! Pedialyte or half Gatorade/half water would be better than juice too. I hope he feels better soon
Yeah-I agree with the other posters. I wouldn't take him to the doctor just yet. If he continues to throw up for a few days straight, then yes. And I wouldn't worry too much about him not eating either. Last time Jack had a fever, the doc said juice was fine because it gave him some much needed extra calories until he started eating. However, if your LO is throwing up, I'd push hard for some water or pedialyte just to hydrate him. I hope he feels better soon!!!
Fluids are the most important. Our daughter wasn't eating when she was sick easier this month and he doctor wasn't concerned because she was drinking plenty of liquids.
I'd try pedialyte since he is throwing up to get some extra nutrients in.
Hope he gets better soon, sick kiddos are not fun.
How is he doing today? Diarrhea after a stomach bug can be so persistent. I found it way worse and scarier than the throwing up when Jack had a stomach flu. Just keep him nice and hydrated! Hope he is feeling better!

Thanks for checking up on us Yesterday was the worst, he had horrible diarrhea and was in so much pain. He's still not 100% but thankfully it looks like we've seen the worst of it.
