We are good...still getting settled into Mom and Dad's but thankfully not packed in a box! We closed on the house last Monday then DH and I went on vacation for a few blissful child-free days, then met up with my parents and the kids at a family reunion downstate. This week has been busy and I'm still trying to get stuff put away here but it's nice having help with the kids!
Now to turn my attention to finding a rental in VA...the one we were looking at fell through so back to the drawing board!
goldenlove3 was it you that tagged me about your friend staying in the same resort or area as us last week? What a small world! Hope they enjoyed themselves!

Yes!! It was so weird. I was scrolling through IG and saw her post then yours directly below it. I was looking in the background of your picture to see if she was in there lol.
Hopefully you find a rental soon LizInFL! Glad to see you back!
danib FX you H gets to come home tomorrow! Do you tell C when he's coming home, or would that be a bad idea?
Today's my Friday, but I really need to get a few projects done today before I leave. H will actually be off the next two days!! I'm thankful for those two things today, being off on Fridays and having H home 2 days in a row this week!
Lillian very kindly woke me up at 6:30 by poking me in my belly button over and over. I'm sleepy. Dh and I stayed up after she went to bed to catch up on Survivor.
Today is the Ls' well checks and dh is home! I made the appointments early so we have the rest of the day to do other stuff. We are planning to drive down just out of town to get bbq. Yum! Not sure what else we'll do since it's supposed to rain today. I want to get Lillian's room reorganized, too.
I'm thankful for tea, my littles, my h, my parents, and living somewhere with so much fun stuff to do (even if it's hot).
LizInFL welcome back! And good luck with the rental search!
danib keeping fingers and toes crossed for Friday or at least Saturday! So I get cracked fingers and heels in the winter. My favorite cream is O'Keefe's. And I also find that my heels are better if I keep them buffed down. I use a Ped Egg or something similar.
Re: goat cheese. Ummm, love it. I've had half a package in my fridge that I haven't been able to eat since I gave up dairy. It kills me every time I see it, yet I can't bring myself to throw it away. Hmm, just had a thought, can I eat it since it's not cows milk? Paging sophiegrace??
And im thankful that E was in her crib until 4am!!! I mean, she had 4 wake ups and feedings, but I was able to get her back asleep in her crib! This has not happened in a loooong time. I think we are turning a corner and are ready for sleep training. Just need my H to get home bc he's the strong one in that adventure.

waitwhat I have never heard of danish Kringle but I looked it up and it looks delicious!!
I've also never tried goat cheese. Maybe I should venture out.
ClassyMrsA I met with the hiring manager on Tuesday and he told me that HR pulled the internal posting because they are trying to get more external candidates in for "technical roles". But he said this isn't really a technical role like what they think so if he doesn't get any applications, he will follow up with HR Friday and let them know he has someone interested and hopefully they'll re-post internal. So I have no idea what's going to happen with that but I'm bummed.
hangry It depends on the specific allergy. Lillian had goat milk, goat cheese, and goat yogurt before she outgrew her milk allergy with no problem. My understanding is that with more severe allergies, yes, you'd need to avoid both. Lillian was allergic to one protein that has trace amounts in goat milk plus a rather mild allergy to begin with. Any other milk allergy will trigger an allergic response with goat milk as well. It's weird. Eta: I did a ton of research when it popped up since she needed the fat, but she's not had the allergy for well over a year so I forget specifics.
I get irrationally annoyed by the old man who walks around on garbage day and looks through all the recycling bins for returnables. Like, that's my shit until it goes in the garbage truck. And I don't put bottles in there, I return them and get the refund myself! This happens every Thursday, and yet I can't seem to accept it. #fwp

I hear ya. We had pickers that drove through our (huge) neighborhood on trash night. It was simultaneously shocking (like, wow, we just put that out 10 min ago and it's gone) and irrationally annoying. It kind of makes you feel like you're being stalked?
My parents' neighborhood is the only one in our city where the trash guys come up into your parking court to get your trash, then they wheel it out to the truck, and then put your empty cans away. It really spoiled me for living elsewhere, lol. Also a #FWP.
About to head into Target. I spend all our money here. If DH ever audits our accounts and sees what I spend there monthly I think he'd be appalled. And like, what do you have to show for this? Ummm, cute teacher appreciation week gifts and wrapping paper?

This isn't really the point of your post but I hate the stupid refund and wish I could just send everything to recycling! The bottles just pile up in our garage until we finally cave and take them back.
Morning! Well it's pouring down rain here. I forced myself to get out the door to the gym in time for the class I missed on Tuesday. I was soaked just trying to get all 3 of us in the car. Well childcare didn't start until 8:30 the same time the class starts. Soo I didn't get to the class anyway. I did run 2 miles on their track so it's still a win. Some day I will figure out getting to a class lol.
Now we are home and not going anywhere with this weather.
aggiebug that is my dilemma...gym childcare isn't open when the classes I'd like to try are scheduled. But good for you for getting a run in anyway! And feel free to send some of that rain to FL! It's so dry here--we're on water restrictions and there are wildfires blazing north of town so the whole city is covered in hazy smoke.
LizInFL it's tough. This is the first week of my gym membership, I have had to wait until C was 6 months and old enough for child care. I am trying to give myself a little more time to get the gym figured out and find something that works. Even if it's meeting a personal trainer once a month and I work out on my own. I have never been a gym person, so this is all weird.
And we are still in a drought here but I do wish we could share and help tamp down your fires
So, it appears we are back to swaddling at night. D slept until 6:30 this morning without waking up. Well actually I think I did hear her mewling a little bit at one point but she stopped and went back to sleep on her own. I ended up getting a full 8 hours. Pretty obvious what I'm thankful for today!
About the swaddle though. WTF do I do? She apparently can't sleep without it because of her wild, crazy arms. And I guess she has decided she doesn't want to sleep on her belly. I'm at a loss. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I just walked a quarter mile in heels to a car to update something only to find out that my tool is out of date. So I'm trying to update it but it's not starting so now I'm wondering if it won't work on wifi. I'll be giving it a few more minutes before heading back to my desk again.
dashook have you looked into a zipadeezip? It's supposed to keep their arms from waking them up but it's safe if they can roll, you can even put them in it in a car seat.
