A random acquaintance just had a baby, and a group of women was gushing over the new addition. They were all excited about her name: Addison Jane. All I could think of were the side-eyes and arguments over Addison over here!

Forget for a moment that it's a boy's name. All I think of is Addison's Disease, which very nearly killed my grandmother many times over the course of her life.

I'm so sick of hearing Addison. I don't see how it's appealing at all on a girl.

Definitely cringe-worthy. And being in the medical field... all I think of is Addison's disease, which is just awful! A colleague of mine named her daughter this, I just don't understand the appeal.

Thanks.  She struggled with it for years, but the truly scary part was how every time she was in the hospital for something (3 times for cancer alone, which is what killed her), the nurses/doctors refused to listen to us and up her Cortisone dosage until we would raise absolute hell about it.  Nevermind that the information was in her medical records.

However, I'm weirdly glad that I'm not the only one who thinks of the disease when I hear this name.

I do love that I'm hearing Jane more often though. I just wish people would use it as a first name instead of a filler mn.

Addison doesn't rub me the wrong way like Nevaeh or something, but yeah, I'm over the Addy trend. I do know a boy Addison born in the late 90's. Poor kid cause it seems like only girls are being named Addison now.
