The boy is now a full-fledged bike rider. He can start, stop, turn, and ride for over a mile at a time. I wouldn't trust him on a busy city street yet, but we'll get there. It was the grandparents that did it. Sent him up to stay with them for a week. Amazing what the boy will do when Grandpa is barking at him rather than me, not to mention wide open country roads.
My parents also weaned him off the pacifier when he was young. I texted my Mom today and told her to work on shoe tying!
The timing couldn't be more perfect. We got his schedule for "STEM Academy" i.e. summer school, which starts next week. He has a one hour period on Biking where they ride the trails and learn bike maintenance and care. Woohoo!

We had a play date this afternoon with another boy from DS's outdoor preschool. It was so awesome to watch them play together.
In other news, we've been doing self-care check-ins over at GBCN. Given that threads seem to be disappearing or locked with no explanation in other boards, might be a good idea to bookmark it, just in case this place is on its last legs. Who really knows, though.
Not too much to report. Summer is always good for Charlotte. I think she has SAD or something.
Are you doing a series of camps this summer? Or is she happy being unscheduled?
Camps camps and more camps. I work full time so it's either camps or her school, and I just feel like everyone deserves a break from school. And the teacher deserves a break from her too.
Some camps are structured and some are unstructured. This week is songwriting in the am and then an outdoor playing in the woods type thing in the afternoon at a S/N school. It's an amazing school but SUPER expensive so we just do camp for a few weeks in the summers.
I am guessing the medication is helping because all I get are daily reports from summer school that DS is doing good. I think DS said he likes school one day in the past two weeks.
Over the weekend DS was pretty tolerant at me dragging him to several stores over the weekend looking for a specific packaged bread to send to DH in a care package that DS and I put together. We could not find any and sent other goodies.

We did an 11-day road trip (still recovering!) and Leo did awesome. I was so proud of him! He asked a ton of questions about route, schedule, who everyone was, etc., but as long as we answered all his questions he was really flexible, cheerful and cooperative. He also did OK socially, especially with his first cousins (not as much making friends with extended family, but really not bad considering all the people he was around)!
