So I've been MIA which some may or may not have noticed but I had an awful weekend. We went to my cousins wedding Nashville and it was a blast. They had this 80s band that dressed upin costumes and everything. It was awesome and p loves dancing. Then it went downhill. I slipped on the stairs at my aunts house and broke my ankle. I broke the tibia, fibula, and one more bone in my ankle. So I went to the ER got it set and the had surgery that night. I'm not going to lie, it freaking hurt. I had a spinal block instead of general anesthesia because I'm pregnant. Then that night there was an ice storm so flights were cancelled until Wednesday morning. On Monday night P got the stomach virus along with everyone else at my aunts house. H got it last night and I'm just waiting for my turn. I hope it bypasses me. We made it home but it has been awful. Sorry, I know this is just ranting but I had to get it out. I'm in a cast for about 12 weeks. It sucks.
Omg. That sounds horrible. I really hope you avoid the stomach bug. You've been through too much already. Can you still work? 12 weeks is sooo long! I'm so sorry. I wish we were closer so I could help you out.

Oh no! That's awful. I'm so sorry about your ankle. FX you are "lucky" enough to miss out on the stomach bug. You've dealt with enough! Big hugs and I hope everyone feels better soon.

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine being pregnant with a broken ankle. How awful, I am so sorry. Are you on crutches? (crutches with a toddler and being pregnant? serious nightmare) I hope it heals well. Did you at least get to take a peek at baby while you were in the hospital?
Sorry again, and I really hope the virus skips you, you've been through enough already!
Oh tribute17 that sucks big time! I am so sorry that everything was such a mess after such a fun wedding. So glad that baby is okay though. 12 weeks will be crazy hard with a toddler and being pregnant, but you can do it, hang in there!

Hugs!! Ankles are the worst! Def. Top 5 worst ortho surgeries to have. I have been an ortho nurse for 5 years. I can't imagine being pregnant. Glad you hopefully had a good block.
yikes!!! That's so horrible - I'm so sorry to hear all this. You really have had a bad weekend for sure Crossing my fingers for you that you don't get the flu on top of everything else that has happened.
On the bright side: at least the wedding was fun - and that 80's band sounds awesome
Thanks everyone. It does suck big time. I'm on crutches for now with no weight on the foot. I don't think I'm out of work for twelve weeks, I sure hope not anyway. Hopefully I can go back next week sometime. I got a wheelchair for work and can teach sitting down. I have to see the ortho first to get a timeline. Luckily my in laws took JP for the night and probably tonight too. H is worn out from the virus so has no energy and I'm no help. I miss him though.
Bantyrooster the doctor said it was about the worst I could do to my ankle. At least there was no nerve damage and too much ligament damage. I do have plates and screws now so that's fun. The doc on call was a foot and ankle specialist so I got lucky with that I guess.
I just want to go back and not slip on the stairs. I think pregnancy definitely contributed because my ligaments are loose and I've been super clumsy lately. So all of you pg ladies, be careful!
Oh my gosh, that sounds terrible! I can't imagine having surgery while awake that wasn't a c-section with a baby to take your mind off it! After such a terrible weekend I really hope you are able to avoid the stomach bug!
I wasn't really awake. They gave me pro phenol which kind of knocks you out. I definitely don't remember it. Also no stomach bug yet but we will see. Fingers crossed.
