Went to a tea tasting at this cute tea shop last night with my sister. There were some yummy teas, but I only ended up buying one. It was a apple spice herbal. Today I have a short day at work, then I'm coming home to make pumpkin pie. Only we could not find any pie pumpkins, so it'll be a butternut squash pie instead. Then I think I will also try and make a cornbread stuffing, but I haven't decided on that yet. Thanksgiving for us it tomorrow, since the date of actual Thanksgiving is too hard for my mom.
Also, is anyone else having trouble getting their 3 years old to actually fall asleep on time lately? Bedtime hasn't changed but V isn't truly falling asleep until an hour or more after bedtime.
At the doctor to rule out an ear infection for J. Yesterday he was much better, but then last night was a screamfest only solvable by Tylenol. Two nights of that in a row earns you a check up 🤷🏻♀️
G has a birthday party at 1030. That’s all we have planned for today.
So I thought A was on the mend but she's down for the count again. So since we're just hanging out today we are going to put up some christmas decorations. I love thanksgiving so I usually wait but it's been so cold and snowy already this year that it feels right. And we have the time today anyway. Also, it's been snowing all day today 🎄🎅☃️❄
Tomorrow we have N's first friend birthday party she was invited to. It's at an arcade type place. And I don't feel comfortable leaving so do I just hang out with the parents or on my own...?? My social "anxiety" is through the roof because of it gah.

J does have an ear infection. The NP said we caught it early, so I that’s good at least.
dreemkin the parents hang out at all the birthday parties I go to, even the 6/7 year olds. I’m not sure at what point drop off parties start to happen?

Sorry! Totally meant J! Sorry to hear that but at least that heals quickly with antibiotics.
Happy early Thanksgiving kartish! Hope you have a great day. And no, my kids may not have been nappers but they are always good at going to sleep when we put them in bed. I hope it's just a phase for V or you can figure out something causing it. How about cutting back his food and drink earlier, shortening or dropping naps if he still does, whinding down earlier, etc.
Thanks dreemkin! Hope it turns out well, I didn't get to make my pie yesterday, but I was able to prep the squash.
And regarding sleep, he does it whether he naps or not, which is only a couple times a week these days. But I tried stretching with him before we got ready for bed, which seemed to help calm him down for the whole routine, but he was still up. But it was nice so I thin k I'll continue it.
I do think or evenings could be a lot calmer though, but we have such a short window in the evenings on work days that it's rough. I'm not sure how to fix it without turning everything after dinner into one big bedtime routine, ugh.
I caught a cold ☹. I felt it coming on last night and now I know I have it. Since A is not great and I'm not great, I asked DH to take N to the party. I owe him haha! A and I are watching football and resting.
Any recommendations for a show on Netflix or Amazon prime? DH and I want a new show, preferably not too heavy/intense because we watch right before we go to sleep. We tried Transparent but I'm not in love with it. While I like the father's story, dysfunctional families make me sad.
