I know the best idea is to call my doctor, I swear I will tomorrow when I can talk!
I had 3 of my wisdom teeth out today and holy cow does it hurt worse that I thought it would. I can't really talk at all right now and I know my doctors wouldn't be able to understand me over the phone.
Anyway, the guy that did the surgery today was not very pleasant or personable. He told me to pump and dump after the general anesthesia for 36 hours! whooa. I did a bunch of research myself before the surgery and it appeared that it was totally safe to keep the milk. If I am functioning enough to hold my baby and handle other tasks, then the milk should be fine. I even read this on kellymom which I really trust. I didn't want to argue with this guy because he seemed like a huge turd. Just to be safe, I did dump the first round I pumped after the surgery because I was still fairly groggy. I'm feeling much better and alert now though.
Have any of you pumping moms dealt with this? I'm going to call my Docs tomorrow morning and ask them, but I just wanted to hear from anyone who may have experienced this first hand. He also told me if I am taking the percocet I had to dump it, which I kind of brushed off bc that is what the hospital gave me after my c section and they were encouraging me to feed her breast milk while I was on the pills.
Thanks for any input ladies!
