Ugly Crying at Work (trigger warning: child death)

this happened yesterday in Toronto. I cannot stop reading stories about it. Ugly crying every time I do.
I just feel so bad for his grandmother, his parents, his family, those neighbours. 

I live in a fairly temperate climate, but I get panic attacks thinking of K walking up the street to school on her own. I cant imagine if she up and opened the door by herself at night

This is truly awful. A child wondering out alone is one of my worst fears. I feel terrible for him and his family.

I saw that yesterday. I wouldn't wish that to happen to my worst enemy. I get so worried about DD trying something similar as I used to "escape" a ton as a kid. Luckily I never got hurt but my parents have been on wild goose chases for their wild child.

So heartbreaking! I lived in Toronto for several years and it's so bitterly cold sometimes. How sad for that poor boy and his family!

That is so sad. How awful to have a kid walk out when you are slapping. Makes me glad my sweetie is still in her crib and out front door is locked at night.

It has been COLD here the last few days, and that day in particular was bitter. I was hoping someone would have found him and brought him into their home to keep him warm and safe. So, so tragic. $150,000 has been raised for this boy's family.

There was another mother that was charged with abandoning a child under the age of 10, he was only 4 years old....found wondering the west end of Toronto. I

I just don't understand this.

This is so terrifying. A few weeks ago I was woken out of dead sleep to our house alarm going off. I immediately jumped out of bed and ran to our sons room and he wan't in bed. My SO was right behind me and was headed for the living room. Thru the backdoor we could see our son standing on our deck. He didn't even realize what was going on til he saw us and started bawling. Our best guess was that he was sleep walking. I cant imagine what would have happened if we didn't have the alarm or if he had gone out the front door.
