Continuing to Chart? (and intro)

Hello all,

So excited (and scared!) to be here. Got my definitive BFP today (faint yesterday). I am 30, DH is 33, and this is our first BFP. 

My question is this -- I am definitely scared this isn't going to stick (irrational, probably, but saw both my sister and sister in law struggle with miscarriages). Should I continue to temp and POAS to make sure I stay pregnant? I'm just not sure what to do at this point. Are there other reasons to continue to temp? I'd love to not have to get up at 7am every morning (including weekends and non-work days) if I don't need to...

I plan on calling the OB tomorrow and going in for a blood test, but I'm so out of my element right now... appreciate any thoughts/help!

From what I've heard, it's suggested you don't chart or temp because it will only stress you out.

blanche I would not recommend charting. You already have enough going on and you need your rest. I saw someone else on here post something a few weeks back about choosing joy over worry. I would think of it that way. I mean, have it in your mind that there is a possibility something could go wrong, but don't be expecting something bad to happen. It'll make your pregnancy much more enjoyable.

POAS won't make you stay pregnant. And you can miscarry and have HCG in your system for several weeks.

Stop temping. Temps can go all over the place.

When you hit the second half of first tri, pregnancy tests will start to get more faint (they can't deal with the high levels of HcG. It confuses them). It doesn't matter now, but in case you freak out for some reason and test in a few weeks, know that that happens. (It's called the hook effect).

No, you'll just drive yourself crazy with every fluctuation in temperature. Sad to say there's nothing you can do to make yourself stay pregnant. What will happen will happen. Try not to borrow trouble.

Congrats!! I stopped all things once I got my BFP because there was no way I wanted that stress!! I hope you are able not to stress too much!
