Can this be the Monday Bitchfest?

So, I decided I wanted to find an ob/gyn that was closer to home. The one I was using is 40 minutes to an hour away depending on traffic. I live in a small town so it was kind of hard to find one near by but I did, and guess what? He won't accept me because I used a different OB for my last pregnancy and was high risk. WTAF!? This doctor makes you submit an "application" to be a patient there. I understand only accepting so many patients and certain insurances and all. That makes sense, but to cherry pick your patients based on their medical history? That seems wrong. On a good note, it gave me a good idea that I do not want to use this doctor. If he doesn't feel competent seeing me as a high risk patient, then I definitely don't want him delivering my child.

Crazy! But I agree, I wouldn't want someone with that attitude attending my birth anyways! Hope you're able to find someone.

That's ... I'd like to know his reasoning! Is he just not up to the task, unable to do so ... Just would rather not? I hope you get lucky with a nice & close OB.

My bitchfest for today: I cannot poop (tmi, I'm so sorry!) I've been weening myself off Atkins and have been constipated for two days. Sharp stabby guy pains ... I sit at a desk for work, I'm so not looking forward to today

Wow. Just wow. Especially when you're in a smaller town, I can't believe someone is making people jump through so many hoops. Ugh...Good luck finding an OB closer to you.

Bitchfest: the wind is freaking HOWLING here. My commute was diverted about 15 minutes out of the way because the power was out and trees were down. Seriously...I don't need this on a Monday.

I've decided to just use the ob that I used with my son. It is a farther drive, but at least I know I can trust him.

I think it is because I have epilepsy. It's a malpractice thing, I guess. Doctors get nervous working with people with epilepsy, but my thinking is they chose that career and shouldn't discriminate that way.

Oh and try eating prunes. They help with the constipation! It's a common 1st tri symptom.

Ugh, sorry you wasted your time on that new OB, onyx! I'm glad you were able to make a decision you're comfortable with.
I had my blood drawn this morning, but the lab tech said they don't actually call with results until they have two draws to compare... But, I don't care (ok, I do) about the hcg level, it's the progesterone that I NEED TO KNOW! Whine...
So, to make myself feel better, I stopped for one of those tests that estimates your pregnancy in weeks... does me no good, still, with progesterone levels, but it helped.

It's okay. I was excited because my OB that I am going to use got me an appointment tomorrow to do an ultrasound. They are great; it is just the drive that sucks. I'm sorry about your tests! I hate doing those blood draws and waiting (for what seems like months) to get results.

I had a similar experience this morning. I called the OBGYN practice I've gotten my annuals at for the last few years this morning. First they couldn't find my record so I had to give them all the info again, and then they told me they couldn't see me at the office near my work and would have to travel into the city. No. So I called the CNM practice that I want to go to any way and it was a lot nicer, smoother process.

My bitchfest is I don't know what to do with myself right now -- After all the thoughts TTC, now actually being KU I feel like I'm walking around blind. I want something to happen! The 5+ positive tests still don't have me totally convinced that this is real! Come on March 17 for my first appointment...

I've been bloated lately so my clothes are tight and were making the nausea so much worse. I just went and bought maternity jeans. They are amazing. I am in love and it is helping with the nausea. I felt super silly buying maternity clothes this early, but it was so worth it.
