Isaac was very fussy all day while I was at work. Even with DH. When I got home he was all smiles. I wonder if it is because we were out all weekend. We didn't get as much snuggling and one on one time as we normally do. I am going to attempt lactation cookies tonight. Wish me luck :-)
So far, it looks like we are back to Liam's normal sleep patterns. No fight going down initially and no fighting going down after his first feeding. If the 4/5 am goes well I will do a little dance I'll be so excited!
songbirdsinging55 yummy! Good luck I made some and I didn't do so hot. It was during a Playdate and we got a little distracted with the babies (they were 3 and 6 weeks) so sweet LO missed you!
jjh1119 yay for sleep! We got a 5 hour stretch last night which was heaven after me getting 5.5 hours of sleep total over the two previous nights combined. This was around my 15 hr shift. I don't know what happened! I think she is trying to reverse cycle on me.
I have to go in this am for a meeting at work on my day off. It will take me longer to get there and back because it's a 1 hr meeting. Seems silly but oh well. Yesterday at work I called to check on Piper. She heard my voice and got the biggest grin (FaceTime) then after a minute she made the most pitiful bottom lip sticking out pouty face and burst into tears when she realized I wasn't there. Broke my heart and almost burst it at the same time! I missed her too
All these attached little babies! It's so sweet that they know us....and still want us!
I was just telling DH how I know it is sad that he is upset when I am gone but it makes me feel kind of good because he loves me and likes spending time with me.

Ah the pouty face. Cute and heartbreaking at the same time. It's awesome that you FaceTime. My MIL doesn't have a smartphone yet. Soon we will be adding her on and teaching her how to video chat.
I'm jealous of all you ladies with babies that miss you. DS is so serious when he is with DH and me. However, when he sees grandma he lights up and laughs. Not fair kid, she didn't birth you lol
songbirdsinging55 Good luck with your lactation cookies! I made one recipe I found on Pinterest and they were really good, and helped for sure! I was thinking about making another batch for myself.
I think we might be over the hump with the croup. DS didn't cough at all in his sleep last night and only a couple times this morning. Small victory! Now if we could just get this kid to take a bottle at daycare. We have tried everything and are now resorting to feeding him with a medicine dropper so he stays hydrated. I feel like we have tried every trick in the book. Any mamas out there with tips that worked for them?
Libby so glad you got sleep, too! The rough nights are rough, especially multiple nights in a row. I was practically delirious, barely made sense at all half the time and could not remember anything.
Thankfully last night was glorious. He woke up twice to eat, then at 6:30 woke up to cuddle and slept till 8! He's napping now and I can squeeze some yoga in.
HutterFlutter Awww what if you lingered a few minutes? Not sure if that would help or make things worse, though.
rosieb0514 yay for starting to get better with the croup. I have no advice about the bottle, but I hope something works soon!

I think RL is going through the 3 month growth spurt, he slept and slept and slept all day yesterday AND 10 hours last night. For reference, the boy usually naps for 10-20 minute stretches and that's it. I will take this over the screaming fits from previous growth spurts though anyway.
RL for sure recognizes me but I haven't had many opportunities to test attachment. I would like to think he would miss me though.

rosieb0514 - Do you mind sharing the recipe for the lactation cookies? I have been wanting to try some.
Happy Tuesday ladies!! I finally went to the Dr. yesterday and it turns out I have a sinus AND ear infection. Dr. gave me antibiotics, a steroid (to help with cough and asthma), nasal spray and tylenol with codeine to help with the cough at night. For whatever reason the codeine did not knock me out like it usually does. I ended up staying up until midnight working on my side business and was up at 5:30 am with LO and couldn't get back to sleep. So today should be interesting running off of 5 hours of sleep. But I feel like my body is finally coming back from the dead. LO is snuggling with daddy as I pump right now. They are so stinking cute.
I left LO with dh for 2 hours yesterday while I went to my appointment (and pharmacy) and he did great. I'm glad because I have to leave him for about 5 hours on Sunday for a client meeting and I'm dreading it. Pumping as I type to add to the stock pile for Sunday.
So I'm meeting with my boss today to talk about going part time. I'm so nervous to see what she says, but I guess the worst she can say is no and then I'll just have to find something else. I really wish I could just do this on the phone or better yet over text messages! Just have to think of my lo and why I'm wanting to do this and be brave.
@ninergirl glad you were able to get some meds, hope you feel better soon!
Re: lo missing mom when gone, the last time I handed her over to the daycare lady she looked at me like, where you going?? Who is this? Broke my heart, I just have to kind of leave quickly or I'm afraid I'll just say oh well I'll just not do this...k, thanks bye
rosieb0514 did your lo's croup start out as a normal cough and get worse, or was it just bad from the beginning? My dd has had a cough the last 2 days...I was going to call the peds today but thought I would see how it started with you guys. Ps I'm glad to hear your lo is feeling better!

This...all of this. I'm torn on being excited that I may just have the happiest baby ever that totally loves my parents or being upset that he doesn't care who has him! He's not serious with us but he's never upset with being held by anyone.
I have this weird concern that he'll forget me or something. I know that's not the case, but I'm gone from 7-7 every day for work so most of what's left to do is the bathing, the feeding and the sleeping. It's just not enough time. I want to play too!!!

Yep. We say he's serious but it's probably just because he's worn out all day by grandma. He really loves to be held by anyone and doesn't know a stranger. I guess that's why he doesn't miss me as much as other ladies have said.

Good luck! I absolutely hate confrontation so I can't imagine how nervous you must be. Hope you get your part time!

Thank you ladies. It has been a struggle to get him to take a bottle. We have one of every bottle you can buy at Target, and I feel like we have tried every trick. We will get there though!
kfaye-It did start out as a normal small cough and he had it for 2 days. Then the 3rd morning I heard a cough that sounded like a bark and I knew that we had a problem. I caught it on video and luckly he did it at the doctors as well, but they heard it and instantly said it was croup. He never ran any fever, so I'm thankful for that, just a nasty cough! I hope your LO just has a little cough. Sending healthy vibes over your way! Good luck with your boss today!
ninergirl52-Here ya go! Our local grocery store has a pretty good health food section so I was able to find the brewers yeast and flax seed mill there, but the owner of the recipe states she found them at GNC! I also put 2 tbs of flax and 1 tbs of the brewers yeast in my morning smoothies. You can't really taste them at all! Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients: 2 tablespoons flax seed meal (found at GNC. Alternative- buy flax seed and stick it in your food processor) 1/4 cup water 1 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups flour 1/4 cup brewer's yeast (found at GNC. NO OTHER TYPE OF YEAST!) 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 cups oats 2 cups M&Ms
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix water and flax seed meal into a small bowl and set aside for the moment.
Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
Add flax seed meal mixture and mix well.
Add flour, brewer's yeast, baking soda, and salt. Some like to mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl. I like to do less dishes so I just throw it all into the mixer bowl with the wet ingredients. Mix well.
@ninergal52 - my friend has made me a couple of batches of lactation cookies using this recipe. Hope it helps you. MH doesn't mind them; although I just tell him they are chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. They are great with milk, chai tea, and on their own.
catlady22 and kfo22 thank you so much. I hate confrontation too and will kind of be springing this on her since I'm supposed to go back next week so I'm sure she won't be thrilled. I have worked there for almost 10 years now and have always been a really good employee so we will see!

After about a month of trying to transition our little lady to her crib, we have had good days and bad days. Everyone is tried so I decided to put her back in her rock and play and we are back to 4 hr stretches. I think I'm going to take a little break and just leave her in the rock and play to catch up on some sleep. I feel like a failure that the crib didn't go well
They are calling for an inch to 2 inches of snow tomorrow morning and the funeral for my cousin is at 2. Not looking forward to getting LO out and in the cold. Also this side of the family hasn't met her yet and I'm nervous how that will go, and not to mention everyone being so sad.
I have Emma on a pretty good schedule during the week and Saturday morning, but Sundays are so hard while H is home. She doesn't nap and is so cranky and takes us days to recover. I go back to work week after next and am nervous about getting her on a completely different schedule. I'm going to miss her so much. I'm only working part time but these last 13 weeks have just been her and I - and I don't want it to end

Would you happen to have a link? I am worried about not liking the ones I picked. There is a home brew store so I was thinking of getting the brewer's yeast there.
funny story about lacation cookies. My coworker brought some over for me when I was a week pp. My dad also came to visit for the weekend around that time. I asked him if he wanted a "lactation cookie" and he got all grossed out and said "NO, not if its made with your milk!" I just about died because he was so concerned.
