I'm up early for workout and pumping. So here goes!
If nothing else if you're bf come check in!
1) what's up!? How's life? 2) challenges? Rants? Raves? 3) questions? Confessions? 4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? 5) what's your go to makeup routine?
1) I'm ok. Overwhelmed again. I upped my pumping so that I pump half of what Lo needs a day for the freezer. I think it's hormonal that I feel this way again
2) work and life juggle is moving real quickly this week. It's hard
3) are kids really done w bottles at 1 year. I'm screwed if so
4) I'm a late month mama
5) powder or tinted moisturizer, eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, brow gel to darken and blush. Takes me 3 min
1) what's up!? How's life? Life is busy and somewhat peachy! Work blows monkeys. 2) challenges? Rants? Raves? Nada! I WILL make it to my 1yr goal though, and that makes me happy. We added in a little bit of WCM last week to stretch my stash some and so that I could be 99% done pumping. 3) questions? Confessions? I am ready to be done with morning nursing but not night nursing. I'm VERY happy not to be pumping now. I only pump to relieve pressure now. 4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? Haven't been to our visit yet. 5) what's your go to makeup routine? Foundation, powder, Almay "for brown eyes" shadow, mascara, a little bronzer, chapstick.
Oh, I had a question: Am I the ONLY one who still does not have PP period? I'm still taking 20mg/day of Domperidone but I feel like I should have my period by now! I am even thinking I should call OB at this point. I mean...a year later?!?!?
1) what's up!? How's life? Doing pretty well. We're mostly in a groove.
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? Rave: My brother got married this past weekend and we left DD with her Aunt and Uncle all day and night. It was the first time someone besides me or DH put her to bed. It went surprisingly well and we were able to enjoy ourselves at the wedding. Challenge: I'm finding it hard to keep on top of errands. Just when I think we're in a good place, I'm out of groceries, out of diapers etc. There aren't enough hours in the day.
3) questions? Confessions? I feel you on the bottles jtizzay. I feel like it shouldn't be that hard for DD to get milk in a sippy, but we just can't seem to make the transition. She'll take two sips and then discard it. If we stopped the bottles I feel like she'd only get like 5 oz a day. Also, I'm nervous about her transition to the next room in daycare. She just started walking, so developmentally they'd like to move her soon, but the toddler room is 1 nap per day. I really don't think she's ready for that yet.
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? We're 3/28, so I'm right there with you.
5) what's your go to makeup routine? Moisturizer, eyeliner. Used to do some bare minerals foundation and blush, but I never seem to have time anymore. I'm lucky if I can blow dry my hair before walking out the door.

You are not alone! I'm still nursing 4 times a day but no pumping (unless I'm gone and LO needs a bottle). I have read that some moms don't get their period until they completely stop breastfeeding. Ugh I thought mine would come back once I stopped pumping but nope.
fish8412, yeah, I'm down to nursing less than 15min/day. He only nurses one side in the morning and BARELLY both sides at night. I mean...I'm not going to complain about not having my period. It's great not having to deal with tampons. BUT I have all the other stuff that comes with a period. The bloatness, slight PMS, it's just annoying.

1) what's up!? How's life? - My kid can't stay healthy enough to go to daycare a full week apparently. Pink eye. Joy.
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? - I'm down to pumping 2x a day & my supply is tanking accordingly. So I'm getting 6-7oz for those two times (total).
3) questions? Confessions? - Do I cut down to one pump next week? Or just cold turkey & be done? I really don't feel like these 6oz are worth the time to pump, but on the other hand I don't mind pumping once at work & I'll probably "fake pump" so I can shut my door once or twice a day while I'm here anyway...
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? - end of monther
5) what's your go to makeup routine? - when I wear makeup? Just a little shadow & mascara mostly, sometimes some tinted moisturizer or a little powder (I use bare mineral). But mostly I go to work & everywhere without, make up is now reserved for date nights, weddings, or interviews
Hi ladies. LO is sleeping on me so I have time to reply to everything!
1) what's up!? How's life? Alright. Gearing up to return to work next week - I'm both happy and sad. Also sad because I'll need to start pumping to keep my supply up for mornings and nights. Also LO has her first fever:(. She's doing alright but I feel bad for her.
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? Not really. Going to miss my time nursing her during the day.
3) questions? Confessions? Nope
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? She's 3/11 so I will in a few weeks.
5) what's your go to makeup routine? Foundation where I need it. Powder all over, mascara, shadow and tinted Chapstick. Takes about 5 minutes.
I got my pp af at 7.5 months. Just roll w it I think until you're done
I would cut pumping cold turkey if you won't be engorged. I am able to skip a pump now if need be. Depends if you want to quit now or not. I would prob drop to one pump then cut an oz a day and be done

1) what's up!? How's life? Things are okay... 2) challenges? Rants? Raves? I'm thrilled I haven't had my period back yet! (you're not alone, babycaps !) With my first it came back around 9/10 months. We're almost to 11 months and no period. Whoo hoo! 3) questions? Confessions? None... 4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? April momma here! Can't remember anything noteworthy from DD1's 1 year appt. I think there are a lot of shots? Like the most yet. 5) what's your go to makeup routine? Most days these days I don't wear any, but if I do, tinted moisturizer, blush, lip gloss/balm, nudeish/light copper shimmer eye crayon, mascara, eyeliner (sometimes it's all, other times it's in that order, but depending on how I feel, I stop somewhere and don't do all)
jtizzay - I don't think you are alone with bottles. A guy I know still has his 18 month old on a bottle...at night...in the crib. I've heard the bottle transition can be rough, but no advice - my first one wouldn't take a bottle. (Upside to that - no transition? Edit: no bottles sucked, but not having to transition was the silver lining?) bennieangel re: pumping - I think it's up to you! Keep up with one if you want, but you certainly could just go cold turkey!
THIS IS MY 100 POST! MEMBER STATUS, HERE I AM! WHOO!
1) what's up!? How's life? Life is good. Its my attitude that needs adjusting.
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? LO is back to not nursing anywhere but her dark room and I've just started taken formula with me during the day now. I'm not stressing about pumping to keep up or anything anymore. I just can't.
3) questions? Confessions? I'm really sad about LO turning 1 next month.
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? 3/28
5) what's your go to makeup routine? Shadow and mascara. Sometimes power.
1) what's up!? How's life? Great minus the snow and cold. So ready for spring!
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? LO is changing her nap schedule. Used to be 1 morning nap at 930 or 10 and then a afternoon nap at 2. Now she wants to nurse at 930 or 10 but then wants to play, nurse again at 11 and then naps. This nap is long-about 1.5 or 2 hours so then in the afternoons he just takes a cat nap or rests on me for 15 minutes. I need to figure out how to only let her nurse once in the morning. Any suggestions?
3) questions? Confessions? I quit pumping a few weeks early. I quit last week but originally said I would quit on LOs bday. Oh well. I have a huge freezer stash and I'm not engorged. It's nice not having to clean pump parts.
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? Appointment is 3/5
5) what's your go to makeup routine? Aveeno moisturizer, Eyeshadow, mascara, mineral powder foundation, blush, Aquaphor for lips (I never wear lipstick.)

I woke up with uncomfortable leaking tatas...and all the feels. I feel like I'm being selfish stopping pumping now vs. in a month. But I really am ready to be done & he's got 27 bags in the freezer, and is already used to formula...and it's just a month, right?
We won't start WCM until after he's one, because I don't want to transition while we're on vaca. And I don't want to pump on vaca.

It took me 2-3 months after I stopped nursing DS1 to get my pp period, then a few more months for it to regulate.

If you are ready to be done than you're done. Don't push yourself and then resent LO or breastfeeding if you don't want to do it anymore. Pumped milk is fine, formula is fine baby is eating so LO is fine and that's all that matters.
Have you replaced nursing time with some other form of cuddling/comfort with LO? Maybe snuggling and reading a book together? LO might like it and it may be something to help with feeling all the feels you are feeling. You're hormones are going to be messy but it won't take too long to sort out. Dude, you breastfed a tiny human for 11 months! Remember to celebrate that while feeling the feels:)

meggsm, I am EP - we haven't nursed since right around Christmas. So I'm weaning from the pump - now instead of in a month (at a year). Because I'm tired of pumping all the time, and I want to go on vacation with out having to bring the pump.

Sorry my bad. But I think the same thing applies, except maybe the comfort part as you have probably figured that out a while ago. You provided BM to LO for months so you should feel great about that. Don't feel bad about wanting to enjoy vacation without the pump. I was just trying to support your decision to wean. Sorry if that didn't come across properly.

I hope this isn't too personal of a question, but how old was DS1 when you stopped nursing? I also don't have my period yet. I thought it would be back by now but I still nurse LO 4 times a day.

1) what's up!? How's life? I'm one of those annoying people who gets snow days and I am over them. We've had snow days the past six of eight work days and I am getting stir crazy. Also, I haven't been able to work at home at all because a certain little person won't let me touch a computer unless he's eating or sleeping.
2) challenges? Rants? Raves? LO had his follow up appointment for his hypospadias surgery today and got a clean bill of health from the pediatric urologist
3) questions? Confessions? Side lying nursing may have been a mistake. He now wants to co-sleep. A lot. Which is fine for him, but I don't get much sleep when I'm stuck in one position.
4) any advice to late month mamas per the 12 mon visit? We're end of the monthers. I am planning to schedule it for as soon after his birthday as I can so we can get the MMR.
5) what's your go to makeup routine? Everyday, it's just concealer and light powder foundation.

No worries, I tend to be the overshare type . We tapered off at the 12 month mark. He had been eating a lot of solids and was in daycare so I pumped 1-2x/day through about 12 1/2 months plus bedtime nursing, then cut back to just bedtime nursing until 13 months.

fishbulb - I've heard that a pillow between your legs/knees or pillows behind you can help. (I was side lying nursing/co-sleeping while we were traveling recently and was complaining about sleep to a friend who DOES co-sleep regularly. She said she uses lots of pillows to get comfy.)
