I just got out of my appointment from today which was awful. First it was an hour and a half until I saw anyone! Even a nurse! Then another 30 minutes until I got a room and saw the doctor in which he didn't even want to do blood tests. He just said "at this point there is nothing we can do. See you in 4 weeks." And left. The nurses were rude as hell. I didn't experience this when I had my first son and I am totally irritated that I paid for such poor quality care! I've decided I will be driving out of town to a more built up area and will find a better doctor.
Am I overreacting? Or would you ladies be irritated too?
I don't think you're overreacting at all. I would trust your gut and switch. Doctors, especially OBs, aren't something to settle for if you have other options, IMO.

I cannot stand waiting for hours, so that would be a deal breaker for me. I know things come up, but there is an OB office here that has an almost constant 2hr wait. No thank you.
To make it better, when I finally saw a nurse she didn't believe that I got a positive 10 DPO. She wanted to argue that my last period was implantation bleeding and that I'm actually further along. I was like WTAF. This is before anything. How can you tell a patient that she's "probably" further along!? I know what my periods are like.
My husband is like "well, people make mistakes. Maybe go to another appointment and see how it is." I was so irritated even 40 minutes in that I'm like nope. If we have to travel, we will. It blows my mind how much they've changed since I had my son or even my annuals.
rztrumpet, that's what I thought when I called up there. I wasn't expecting to even get an appointment this early. So when they said I could come in today I was pretty excited. I even understand not doing anything yet, but I don't know why they had me come in this early if they were literally going to do nothing. I expected blood tests or just random information or something. Otherwise I would have saved my money. It was just the wait, attitudes, and things like that that bothered me.
I am/will be high risk from my epilepsy and anticonvulsants, so I thought that was why I got in so early in the first place.
ugh, now's the time to find someone you're happier/more comfortable with. Starting off unimpressed and annoyed is not the way you want to start this 8 month relationship. good luck!

That's bullshit (pardon my language). They can absolutely do something this early. I just went to my first appt today and they took all the blood. I'd find a different doc for sure. It's not like this is a normal PCP that you see once a year, this is the doc and the office that you'll be going to for the next 9 months. You'll pretty much be spending your life there for the foreseeable future, so you have to make sure you're comfortable with the practice and the doctors!
Thank you all! Good to know I'm not the only one who would be annoyed. After tons of searching I found one that has good ratings, is 30 minutes away, and that I'm praying will be good.
