My three year old has had a habit since infancy of rocking his head side to side before bed. His hair even parts in the back where he does it over and over. Tonight he started the rocking even before I kissed him goodnight and shut the light off.
Anyone have experience with this? I'm not worried and consider that it's comforting to him... Just wondering if any of you did this, or have kids that do...
DS1 has a couple of blankets that have a threaded finish to the edge. Ever since he was probably around 13, 14 months he has hooked his teeth in the threads and pulled. He does that repetitively, especially when tired. Drives my inlaws nuts.
When I was young I had a teddy bear that wore a night cap with yarn for a tassel on the end. I would hold him and rub the tassel under my nose. Something about that was very soothing when I was little.

Any other repetitive movements you've noticed?
My lo does this some nights. To me it seems like she's getting comfortable.
My LO used to do this when she wasn't mobile. It wore a patch in her hair, a little bald ring haha. Now she flops over and shuffles around until she's comfortable and rubs her feet on the mattress an her face in her lovie. Like pp said I wouldn't worry about it too much.
My youngest SIL used to rock herself to sleep log rolling around the bed with her feet cartwheeling through the air every night because that's what she did in the orphanage before they adopted her. She's grown out of it pretty much, but did it for quite a while. Kids comfort themselves in many ways.
This is a video I found about rocking. My kid does not do this... but I found it heart wrenching. He can't even help it. The brain's involuntary movement.
I roll my stomach/hips and have since I was a kid. I do it when I am relaxing and often don't even realize I am doing it.
Dudes never understood and always thought I was trying to grind on their boner. They were always like, "I thought she said she didn't want to have sex yet, but she's grinding on my boner - I should probably try to put my boner in her again."

My lo kinda does like a forward and backwards rock if she gets up from her nap early. She does it for like five mins and I watch her and she usually tips over and sleeps for longer.
