I realize it is not Thursday yet, but it felt silly to make another Wednesday thread this late. (It is 9 here) I need to vent though.
So, where I live (apartments) all these people like the feed the stray cats so the set food outside for them to eat. Well, the jerks aren't realizing they're also attracting raccoons or they don't care. My husband went to the grocery store tonight and when he got back asked me to come out and help carry groceries in. Well, I go out and about 15 feet from me is an angry hissing raccoon that won't let me move. I tried to go back inside and the little devil followed me! Finally, my husband pulled in and scared the beast away. I am so pissed and irritated. If my toddler were with me he wouldn't understand and we probably would have been attacked. I realize coons can live anywhere, but I doubt they'd be this close to our building if people weren't leaving out food.
Oh and might I add, another couple leaves their stroller under the stairs and the coons climb in them and all over them. I'm surprised no one has gotten sick or hurt yet. I just really feel like this is irresponsible behavior.
I complained about people feeding the strays because one got super sick and I had to call animal control because it was laying in front of my apartment dying and vomiting. The office said they can't do anything about it because they're not violating any policies, but I am taking my butt up there tomorrow morning and saying something again. It's dangerous! I really thought adults would know better than to feed stray animals that they don't know if they are rabid or diseased or anything about them.
