Ds woke up with a fever this morning (102). Dh took him to the pediatrician and he has some redness in his throat. He is looking like he feels really crappy.
My dd is 3 weeks old. I'm at my parents house with her. Dh will be taking care of ds for now. The ped wants me and the baby to stay away if possible until she's 1 month old next Tuesday! I guess if they're less than 1 month and havea fever they have to have invasive testing done.
I think our plan is to have dd and I stay at my parents house until the fever breaks and then quarantine ourselves in the master bedroom where ds doesn't go until dd is 1 month old.
I'm really sad that i can't help take care of ds. How can I help him cope with this? Luckily he is in such a daddy phase. I'm going to stop by before bedtime to say goodnight but not get to close
Any ideas? I was thinking about Skype but I don't know if that would upset him.

I may be the minority here but it seems harder for everyone if I make contact with DD when we're apart. She sobs and gets really upset if I'm not with her. And she loses her bloody mind if I say goodbye to her and leave her with DH. (Granted she is a mommas girl for sure) If it were me I'd just focus on keeping yourself and DD healthy and let your H handle DS. I know it's hard. You know your family and situation better, so this is totally my HO. I hope DS is feeling better soon and the rest of you can stay healthy!
Not exactly the same but when DH and I went on vacay and tried FaceTime with LO and my parents it made things worse. We didn't FaceTime again all vacay. So I am in agreement with sugarandspice11 to stay away and let DH be with DS.

Ugh, I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I would second the just cutting off communication for a bit. As hard as it will be, it might be harder on both of you to "see" each other. He might just think it's a fun play week with Daddy!
Thanks everyone. On day 3 of not being able to see him...hopefully I'll be going home tomorrow night. His fever broke this morning. It sucks but I know we need to do what we can to keep dd from catching it.
