Hi, everyone! My name is Alex and I am an April 15 mama. I have had some depression in the past (situational mostly, although I also have really pretty bad seasonal affective stuff going on.) During pregnancy, I've struggled a lot with anxiety and irrational thoughts (i.e. from weeks about 13-18 I was convinced the baby was dead, with no rhyme or reason to it.) Since I also have an extensive family history of both bipolar disorder and extreme clinical depression, my doctors just put into place a plan for post-partum, so that we essentially treat the PPD I have a super high risk for..as it starts to happen. I am cool with that, of course. They also talked to be about post-partum psychosis, which is just scary to think about. I understand they have to, but I am literally sitting here still unable to open "What to Expect When You're Expecting" without panicking (and normally, I'm that person who likes to learn everything about everything.) This new worry is getting to me....
Anyhow. Sorry to ramble. I'm just very VERY glad this board is here, and hope nobody minds if I join in.
