Advice please (re: bridesmaid in a wedding)

One of my good friends is getting married October 4th. It is driving distance and still a month out, so assuming all is normal, I should be fine to participate. The problem is that she sent out the email about dresses today and the girls are all debating about which dress to get. I don't want to say I'm pregnant yet, but there's no way I can wear some of the selections (tight across the midsection). What do I dooooo? Any thoughts? The bride is fairly lax about what dress we select, but I feel like I can't say anything right now...

Nope, not yet... I've told my best friend (not her) but MH and I agreed we won't tell anyone else until we hear the heartbeat. So that won't be until March 17 or later...

You can steer the conversation to dresses that will work for your situation or suggest that you all go with the same color/material, but different styles.

You can also go with the hypothetical as you are shopping, especially if there are others in the group who may be trying or could potentially have the same situation. Just ask the salesperson what the options would be for something similar if someone were to hypothetically get pregnant.

You can talk to the salesperson one on one after the decision is made when you would need to put your deposit down and find out what your options may be.

I agree about trying to steer the conversation to other dresses, or if you have to just pull the bride aside and let only her know. Also, the 17th isn't too far away so even if you wait until then the bride could still be open to other dresses. I would just be worried about her getting her heart set on one particular dress that wouldn't work.

could you maybe say that some of those styles don't look very flattering on you and try to steer them towards something else? Also, I don't know what the bride is like, but sometimes they're okay with people picking different dresses as long as they're all the same length/color? maybe she'd be okay with that as well?

Can you ask when you need to decide by? Maybe tell her you don't have a ton of time to go try things on and want to make sure things would look flattering on all the girls.

You gotta tell the bride you are TTC and want to make sure the dress will be appropriate for a pregnant lady. If she asks, just tell her you hope to be pregnant very soon. I would hate to be stuck in address that wouldn't work.
