We are wide awake after getting up every 1-2 hours three nights in a row. I don't know what is happening there. No work for me today and it's still gross out so just another day of loving on my girl!
It was an event filled weekend for us. I fell asleep holding LO while putting her to sleep last night. MH Iet us sleep in bed and squished himself into a corner.
It's been almost 10 hours since pumping. The plan was to pump after LO fell asleep. FAIL! Ouch.
I can't believe this time next week I'll be joining the ranks of working mommas.
DS had his 3 month pictures on Saturday and refused to smile. He is so stinking cute though so hopefully we got something good. The large snowstorm that we were supposed to get was pretty dissapointing. Maybe 2 inches that is pretty much melted. It was a good excuse to stay in, bake some lactation cookies, and finish Scandal and Orange is the New Black on Netflix! Weekends go so fast . Back to the Monday grind. Hope everyone has a good week!
gldnbearz-Enjoy your last week with your LO! Libby-Yay for another day to spend with your baby girl! Enjoy!
I can't believe this time next week I'll be joining the ranks of working mommas.
This is me too. I thought I was ready but now I know I'm not. And I'm pretty sure I'll get nothing done this week because I plan on cuddling LO as much possible.
I'm so sore from basketball that it isn't even funny. Two games back to back. I'm way too damn old for this. But I hope the last of the baby weight will come off.
Pretty sure we're in the beginning of the 4 month sleep regression here:(. DD was up every 2-3 hours last night and has been like this since last week. On a positive note, today she's 4 months and we have her check-up. I'm excited to see how much she's grown!
Thought I'd swing in here before I'm off to work! Eeks! It's raining here, so I hope traffic isn't especially bad. At least there is free coffee at work. Hoping to slide right on out of there a few hours early...LO turns 3 months today and I want to take her pictures! Where has the time gone?! She's also been eating more than usual during the night, I'm thinking 3 month growth spurt. Thank goodness I have a free sample of Clinique's product for under eye bags...may need to buy several full size bottles of that stuff, stat!
dsp2013 Four months, congrats! Keep us updated on the 4 month sleep regression...or maybe don't...ignorance is bliss, right? Hope you're able to catch some zzzz's!

I normally wear M at church because it's just so easy. I've been feeling like I've been "hogging" my baby, though, because lots of people want to see him/interact with him but it's hard when he's all snuggled up to me. He's the only baby at church. So yesterday I didn't wear him. BIG MISTAKE! Here's a few things that happened. - Old lady got all up in his face, and then kissed his hand. - Same old lady asked me, half seriously, if we were giving him coffee yet. - About 5 people told me "he looks hungry" within 10 minutes of me feeding him. - Someone asked to hold him, I said yes, then smelled the cigarette smoke on her. - Cigarette smoke lady kissed M's head.
AH! Next week he goes back in the K'tan.
I'm also tackling our leaking CD problem today. Off to the store to get water hardness test strips and then possibly prepare to strip.
Sleep wishes to those dealing with the 4 month regression. I'm stockpiling my decent sleep while I can!
Morning everyone! Hugs to all the ladies dealing with their last week of maternity leave. Soak it up! We just finally are getting back to our 'normal' sleeping habits, hope everyone else's baby gets there again, soon. 4 month wakeful doesn't sound fun.
I can't believe how fast time is blowing by, we've got 3 and 4 month olds, now. Slow down, time!
Yesterday was ah-mazing. We didn't end up doing the movie because we got a pretty big snowstorm but H and I had such a great day, we napped, we cuddled, and we ate the most delicious meal at a new restaurant in town. By 7 or so we were ready to get our baby back. But it was so amazing to have just 'us' time for a bit. Makes me remember how much I love that man.
wildflower810 haha lesson learned. I don't understand why people do that to other people's babies??? I have always loved babies but knew boundaries and just used to say hello to the mother (only if I knew her) and hello to the child. If I touched the baby at all, it would only be wiggling their toes or something.
I have resting bitch face and typically just look unapproachable (so I've been told, lol) so I don't get that much attention when I take Liam out, lol.
Ugh. Daycare dilemma here. We started LO at daycare 1/2 days last week. We chose this daycare in January as it had an immediate opening even though it would require both MH and I to drive daily. We normally commute by bus.
We had interviewed a couple places closer to home, but no openings. Now we get a call back from one place that is walkable distance from home and on the way to our bus line.
I'm conflicted because we just started with daycare 1 last week and are just getting the hang of things, but in the long run the daily drive will eat at us. We live and work in a highly congested city where driving 5 miles across town is 25-30 minutes in traffic with crazy drivers PLUS no parking.
Do I just cut and run? Do I give it the month of March and change in April?
Enjoy your days and weeks snuggling ladies! Agreed that weekends go waaay too fast. Today is my first full day back and work If only it would go as fast! Hope yours goes fast too calimomof1! So glad you had a great date day jjh1119! I should schedule one of those. And today, I have that old familiar thickness feeling in my throat. Not officially sore, but it certainly doesn't feel good. I think my baby got me sick! I'm going to pound the vitamin c and more liquids than usual to try to stave it off. I'm probably due though. Last time I was sick was at my wedding! (1yr 4 mos ago)
Oh wow gldnbearz! How much do you like your current provider? My first choice was a lady around the corner from me, but instead I'm driving 20 minutes AND the opposite direction from work...if my neighborhood lady opened up, I'm not sure I would change, but only because I get a really good feel from my current sitter. But ask me again in a few weeks when I've been waking up extra early and rushing around to make up those extra 30 minutes. If you aren't in love with your current provider, it would be extra snuggle time each morning!

gldnbearz, I say make the change now. The other daycare is clearly better for you and your work situation. If you wait until April to change, it's just going to be that much harder to establish a new routine then. I would hope that your current daycare would understand.
gldnbearz I vote cut and run with no guilt. Most daycares have no trouble filling spots, so imo I wouldn't feel like I was leaving anybody high and dry. It seems like there's more pros to go with the new place.
So last night I scared myself awake. Little man woke up about 3ish after going to bed at almost 1ish (he had issues wanting to go to bed the first time). So finally after figuring out he was only going to go back to bed with half a feeding I put him in his bassinet to fix a bottle. I came back and picked him up then swung around to grab the bottle off the dresser. I don't know if he slipped from the blanket or he thrusted backward but he completely left my arms. I was able to catch his leg before he hit the ground but it scared me and him shitless. I cuddled him close while feeding him his bottle then major co-sleep snuggles occurred.

We have been going through this for the last several nights too. Is your baby four months yet? Mine is today, so I am guessing the four month wakeful period has started. I can't remember how long it lasted with my two year old, but it sucked. I just keep telling myself it really is a good thing because it means he is actually working on new skills and progressing!
rosieb0514 hope you got some good pics! Sounds like a nice weekend
kfo22 part of me thinks just growth spurt and part of me thinks her GERD is getting really bad from the bottles while I work and not using a shield to nurse anymore. I'm ridiculously nervous because we are going to try glass dr Browns with preemie nipple tomorrow all day to see if it helps. She loves her comotomo bottles and has no nipple confusion, but hoping the dr Browns helps her out. I don't want her to stop nursing!
millm0m you shouldn't have to do a think but soak her up!
dsp2013 congrats on 4 months! How is this happening?!?!
calimomof1 make-up and coffee. Sounds like a new mom!
wildflower810 reading that just have me anxiety! I have yet to brave church yet with her but when I do - straight to the cry room
gldnbearz follow your heart! If you do want to switch I say do it now!
zengal good luck with your first day! Hope you wore waterproof mascara! And you cannot get sick!
wicked22 so glad that turned out the way it did! I'm sure it scared you worse!
jac409 4 months on the 18th. Is it too early? Maybe she is combining the 3month growth spurt with 4 month regression to get it out of the way for her mama sorry you aren't getting any sleep either!
wicked22 - oh man, nice reflexes!! Holy smokes I'm sure that was off the charts scary!!
Can I declare war on all the germs!?!?!! Seriously, enough is enough. Lo sounds horrible, dh woke up sick. I know so many of you are dealing with it too. I just think it's time for everyone to feel better!!!
Hope everyone gets lots of sleep and no more germs!!!
LO is at her trial day of daycare today since our sitter cancelled on us and we had to scramble to find a daycare I like them a lot and there's only one other infant in her class (an 11 month old) so less germs etc but they don't have a dark place for her to nap and I only just realized this when I dropped her off this morning and tried to put her down since it was already her nap time. She didn't sleep because she was too overstimulated and looking at everything. I'm planning on asking about this when I go pick her up...she has such good nap/sleep habits and I don't want to wreck them. It's had me anxious all day, all I want to do is go pick her up because I miss her

I say make the change now while it is still early. LO is just adjusting to this current DC so it won't be a huge impact for him. Also having the DC closer and withing walking distance is worth it :-)

Good luck to the ladies returning to work soon. You will be great and enjoy all of your time with your LOs :-) Hugs for the ones dealing with sick LOs or germs in general. Quick post but will catch up later
aluzitano hopefully she was able to sleep and you guys figure out something for daycare naps
Just came back from target, liam was awake the whole way there and while we shopped. Had a mini freak out during the drive home but fell asleep on the way so I'm sitting in my driveway catching up while he sleeps in his car seat. Lol
