Mamas with girls who have thin hair ?

My DD has corn silk for hair and barrettes just slide right out, but her hair is in her face. What do you do while it's growing out?

It's not in DD's face yet, but have you tried headbands? DD hates them, but maybe yours doesn't.

I do a little braid on the side of her head and use a small rubber band to hold it. She pulls her barrettes and ponytails out and it drives me batty. This is the only thing she can't get out.

DD's hair is starting to fill out more but our go-to for months has been a pony on the top of her head, secured with a tiny little elastic.

DD still has baby fuzz that is scraggly but then again DS didn't have his first haircut until well after he turned 2.5. My kids are blonde and bald she also just rips clips out of her hair. I think she is just going to look all ghetto for a while until her hair really grows in.

We are blonde and bald over here tooWe are just starting to get wispy curls going on. No advice over here. I'm praying DD will have enough hair to do a first cut in Disney this October!

I'm somewhat jealous of all you with LOs with longish hair. The reason I say somewhat is because it certainly is easy to not have to worry about brushing/styling hair with a busy toddler. My DD is just starting to have some hair grow, it's been such a slow process!

We are also in the same boat- my DD has crazy curly hair that goes right into her face, but she rips out all hair clips or ponies- going to try the braid suggestion! Thanks girlonfire

We use the little elastics meant for baby hair. They come out easily. We pull the hair on the top of her head into a little side pony, and then clip the barrette on top of the elastic so it stays in better.

Those baby elastics are really the best. If her hair is to fine for even those you can glue hair bows on the zipper part of Ziploc bags they stay decently in fine hair but if she's pulling out out then I'm not sure what would work.....

If she will wear headbands that may be your best bet. DD still only has about an inch of fine fuzz, so I haven't had to worry about it yet. But I have super fine hair myself and have never been able to wear barrettes or clips because they slide right out. I used clips and tied DD's hair up since she was a few months old.  It all stopped the moment she figured out how to pull them out.  Her teacher recently told me she put DDs hair in a pony tail at the top, far back, on her head.  She then watched DD spend a few minutes reaching for it to try and get it out. She put herself in the downward dog position which she was then able to grab the elastic and pull it out. So yeah, I don't think starting her earlier helped in any way.

It may not have helped to get her used to them. DD used to wear headbands every day and was used to them. Then one day she decided she didn't like them and has refused to wear one since. She likes hats and will often ask to wear a hat, but not headbands.
