After DS1 I lost all the baby weight quickly and with no effort, but this time around is very different! That's the down side of having a baby right before the holidays, I guess....I'm starting to get more serious about getting back in shape, but it's tough with the little one. I'm focusing on portion control, cutting down on cheese and sugar, and walking every day. I'm also going to start using a 7-minute workout app that I've had on my phone forever (but never used). I did it today and I think it will be useful. I really need to get back into yoga & pilates, but I don't see having the time for that for awhile.
I kept on trying to put on my old clothes, and it was not happening. I am motivated to get this weight off because I cannot afford a whole new wardrobe! I signed up for a bootcamp, and am also following a running training schedule. So I'm running three to four times per week, with three days of cross training. I'm also counting calories with my fitness pal, which has helped keep me accountable. I found myself rationalizing a cheeseburger and fries because hey, I'm breastfeeding...
I never got to my pre-pregnancy weight after #2, so I am also needing to lose that plus the rest that I gained with #3. I work nights and that seriously effs with my metabolism. :-(
But WW has helped me shed all but 5lbs of my pregnancy weight thus far. And I am starting to work out again, so thats helping. In total I have about 25lbs to lose to get where I was pre-kiddos. I also got a fitbit for Christmas, so I am trying to get my steps in as well.
zengal is your LO in childcare, or does YH take him while you run? I'd like to start running but I'm not back at work yet so I haven't sorted out childcare yet for T. I walk with him in the stroller but it's not the same! I did a "baby bootcamp" while K was little and it was great!
lissydee I have a fitbit and I find it very motivating! It's amazing that I actually want to get off the couch when I know I'm going to get some sort of credit for it
I've lost most of my pregnancy weight, but I need to get back into shape. Plus, I miss running so I'm going to start exercising soon. For now, I'm just keeping track of what I eat using MFP. I'm going to start wearing my Fitbit again too. Pretty sure all of this walking my LO around to get her to sleep has increased my step count significantly.
jfh I am not back at work yet; I wait until LO is napping and I put her in the RnP right next to the treadmill. Except yesterday, I called grandma to come over and I ran outside (DH was at work). I'm thinking that when I do go back to work, I'll wake up and feed LO and then run - she typically goes right back to sleep after that first long stretch of the night. FX that plan works!
lissydee I'd heard of the squat challenge, but hadn't seen it. That looks great! I believe I will add that in to my routine!
I also got a fitbit for Christmas. During the week, I struggle to get 5000 steps per day. (damn you work) this past weekend, I got over 10k steps each day. Saturday was sunny and 40 here, so I took LO for a nice long stroller ride. I really can't wait for spring. With the days being longer and the weather being nicer, I will be out there every morning. As for now, I am cutting out junk food and trying to eat smaller portions. I made up salads for the week so I can have a salad for lunch every day this week. I boiled some eggs to add to them. I also bought grapes and cauliflower to snack on while I am at work.
I need to lose 20 pounds to get back to pre pregnancy weight. This past week I thought I did good......turns out I gained a pound.
I've been feeling guilty about this lately. So far I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight with DS, but I still have about 20 pounds to lose in order to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight with DD. I didn't have time to lose it all last time around since I got pregnant again at 4 mo PP.
So far I've just been sticking to portion control and cutting out most junk food from my diet. EBF has seemed to help me some too. Maybe tonight I'll go for a jog after DH gets home. This thread has inspired me!
H and I do weight training (which I still did while pregnant, just with some modifications) and some crossfit workouts... I do cardio as well! It's been hard for me to go as much as I'd like, of course, but my mom has been great and has been making it so I can go 3-4 times a week right now! I'm down 30 pounds so far, with 6 to go aaaand I've been stuck at that point for weeks now and am getting frustrated by it.
zengal I totally forgot that treadmills exist, lol. I have a rowing machine but no space for it, so it sits in the shed.
mander82 I feel like it will be so much easier once the weather warms up! It's so hard to get out of the house when it's below freezing.
I use MFP but it's tough on the weekends when I'm eating out, or eating at friends' houses, or eating random combinations of leftovers. MFP works great for me when I'm on a consistent routine, but that's rare.
I'm not doing much. My pregnancy weight is gone, but everything feels squishy and different! I would love to lift weights again. I miss the gym, but I'm busy getting ready for a move now. I do have a fitbit, and love the end-of-day goal buzzer!! I'm going to throw out my fitbit link, because I need friends to compete with. www.fitbit.com/user/2B549F
I've registered for my annual long race to get my ass back in gear. Running is my favorite but right now it's become stressful. Trying to find time to get on a treadmill (not ready for outdoor running yet) and coordinating with my H to watch the baby... Not to mention I'm starting from scratch fitness wise.
But! I'm determined to run my long race at the end of May. I did it 15 weeks pregnant last year, so I can do it again this year! Plus it'll help me button my pants.
pixie523 We have similar fitness goals! Except my annual race is mid-April so my 12-week training schedule is in full force. I thought I'd be starting from scratch, but it was almost as awesome as it was when I stopped- you can definitely do it again this year!

Thanks! I'm definitely getting through the ease into 5k program much quicker than when I did it the first time a few years ago. I know it'll come back - just got to do the work!
Just got my Fitbit today! I started working out 2 weeks ago but taking a break this week to snuggle up with the LO as much I can before going back to work next week. Curious to see how many steps I take at work.
pixie523 It's a half marathon. I did it last year at 8 weeks pregnant, and boy was that fatigue noticeable! Even though I don't feel as fit this year, I hope to beat last year's time. It will be a nice way to kick off the racing season!
I have been using myfitnesspal and Dh and I have been walking every evening too. Haven't lost a Damon pound since the initial weight loss even with eating good and exercising since NY so I think I need to up my water intake substantially. That usually helps me.
Might look in to a fitbit though. They sound great!
I worked out for the first time today and it felt so good (well it hurt like a bitch, but felt good after). I'm also trying to watch what I eat, but don't want to cut back too much since I'm BFing. The special part was when I got home and realized that my boobs had leaked all over my shirt and I didn't notice. So who knows how long I was walking around the gym with big wet circles over my nipples.

I had planned to do 2 days of cardio and one of weights but I am taking it easy since the gallbladder surgery. Also my work is offering a group workout session for everyone, we are just waiting on what group class it will be. They have a yoga instructor who will be coming out on Tuesdays but they want a more active group for everyone. I am hoping they go with les mills body pump

I'm doing good old Weight Watchers. It takes into account the fact that I'm breastfeeding, so I know I'm getting the correct amount of nutrients. I also got a Fitbit for Christmas and hope that motivates, too.
My ultimate motivation is that I'm a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding this May and want to feel confident in how I look.

I love my fitbit! Somedays are ridiculously hard to get my steps in. I try to get out & walk everyday. I'm looking into getting a jogging stroller because we generally walk/run on trails nearby. I'm also considering doing stroller strides as a neighbor leads our local one. Right now I'm close to my prepregnancy weight, but I'm so darn squishy. Dh & I eat fairly healthy but are trying to be more vigilant about it. He wants to drop 10 lbs & I want to drop 15 lbs

I've had a Fitbit but I keep forgetting to put it on after I recharge it. I was doing so well when I was at home but now that I am back to work I just get home a cuddle LO. I wish the weather was nicer because I would love to take LO walking. Spring will most likely be my time. My goal is that by Summer I will be doing at least 1 5K a month.
