So my kid went from sleeping normally at night and taking a nice nap to suddenly sleeping like crap. Whether or not she has a nap, she inevitably wakes up at some point and just whines incessantly. She rarely screams, but like last night, she slept okay until one, then woke me up with her simpering ever hour after that. She wasn't even really awake. But right now, she went down at her normal time, woke up two hours later, and for the past hour has been crying/whimpering/screaming on and off.
Help! She's asking me to leave the door open so I think she might be afraid of the dark, but short of adding some light to the room (which has been accomplished with door opening), I don't know what to do about it.
Sorry about the bad sleep. It seems to be a pretty common thing for this age I suppose. So many of us are going through it. I know I was with Jack even before we switched him out to a bed. Do you think she could benefit from something like this? It might make her feel a little more empowered over the scary dark situation. I am not too sure how bright it is though, or if it would just distract her more. But it may be worth a shot.
