Happy Friday everyone! Is it bad that I'm considering knocking off work early today so I can go check out a NWT Tula a local mama is selling at the retail price?
littleapplemom so far pampers swaddled are out favorites. We had a pack of luvs we need to look and now I'm nervous because LO is a poop machine lol. That's way way too young to have a cell phone! How could they possibly "need" one?
jjh1119 I would say grocery shopping is a HUGE accomplishment for the day!
dsp2013 I don't think I could go without feeding my baby when she wakes up in motn too. Maybe he just meant you don't have to wake her to eat?
So I just texted my cousin to see how theyre all adjusting after the new baby. I was planning on getting some quick and easy prep foods to bring over (they also have a 2 year old and they are only 21 ). Anyway, she just told me the baby has been in the NICU since they day after he was born! She didn't tell many people this, I guess. Poor thing, she said something about his veins not opening up as quickly as they should, making his heart work harder to get the blood pumping through his lungs?
Their 2 year old was born at 33 weeks due to preeclempsia and was in the NICU for 3 weeks, this baby was born at 39 weeks and she had an easy pregnancy. I feel bad. That's a lot for a young couple to go through.

sadie74, I'm pretty sure they don't need sushi delivered to them for lunch at school but she does that too. And they're by no means wealthy....she cries poverty all the time. Priorities!!
jjh1119, sorry to hear about the baby. Best thing you can do is to be there for them. The worst thing about NICU for me was being stuck in the maternity ward without my baby while the other moms got to have theirs in their rooms. Even though I knew he was safe it would have been nice to have more people visit to get my mind off it. Did she have to go home without the baby?
Thanks you all! I'm trying really hard to look at it like if I'm meant to get it I will, but I'm definitely hoping!
gldnbearz, ((hugs))! Going back to work is so hard!
millm0m, DD is super active at night too. We keep waking up to find her having turned herself from laying lengthwise to laying sideways in her pnp.
dsp2013, if DD doesn't wake up on her own, I don't wake her up, but if she really wakes all the way up and won't go back down easily, I'll feed her. She's 3 months though.
littleapplemom, yeah, I can't see myself giving DD a cell phone at that age! Also, that lady sounds super selfish...maybe a group intervention is needed?

calimomof1, when in doubt, always leave early, especially on Friday!
I know it's not Wednesday, but WTF is up with Pips' feet?! They are always sweaty! And she always wants to put them on my face! Also, she's eating her sweaty toes right now! I'm torn between stopping her, because Yuck. And not because she seems to be enjoying herself. I'm gonna blame thins on DH's genes and just let her carry on, lol.
Thanks ladies. I don't wake her to eat, but if she starts to really fuss and move in the bassinet I feed her. She does this without fully waking up and usually falls back into a deep sleep and I put her back.
Doc said even these weren't needed. She said DD gets enough nutrition and has gained enough weight the motn feeds just are there for comfort. I'm torn bc I feel that comfort is a big deal. Heck I even wake up at least once a night to use the bathroom or change positions. So I'm torn on trying to wean her.
Plus, I've read that cutting them out could affect my supply. Lately, I just pump exactly enough to cover her feeds while I'm gone. I'd rather feed her than have to wake up anyway just to pump:(
dsp2013 That's how I feel about MOTN feeds, too. I'd rather feed my LO than pump. Just do what your instincts tell you to do. You don't have to listen to the doctor about EVERYTHING!
LO had a good pediatrician visit. Took her shots like a champ, although crying was involved. We fed her her bottle afterwards and she's chatting up a storm on the way home. 12 lbs 2oz and 24 inches (15 %ile) at 19 weeks. Her head is 45 %ile, a bit of a bobble head.
Last day of mat leave and LO fought a nap all day. No sweet snuggles for me
H has been pretty lucky to get a meal every night since I've been home. Lord knows I'm not going to want to cook once I start back at work. Time to break out the crockpot and pizza coupons. That's not gonna be good for the FUPA I'm still rocking :/
littleapplemom she is home, but baby is still there. It sounds like he was taken off the nasal cannula today, so things are looking up.
I am struggling these last few days. I am at the 'gym' and by that I mean I'm in the parking lot but just sitting here in my car because I just cannot be home another second right now. So much fussiness, my todo list for work is growing so much and it totally sucks to have your husband as your 'boss'. My house is also disgusting, and there are tons of things that need to be done there too. Our sink is leaking everywhere. Gah.
I don't even have time to work out anyway, have to go back and do the bedtime routine and actually shower and wash my hair. Working at the salon bright and early tomorrow.

dsp2013, trust your gut! You are the mom and know your baby better than your doctor knows your baby. Ask yourself if feeding LO in the motn is hurting her? Nope, probably not. So keep doing it! If the doctor wants to give you a hard time about it, that's his problem. Nurse away!
My husband asked me today if I'd be willing to move from Los Angeles to Austin because he got contacted by a recruiter for a great job. We always said it wouldn't be a bad place to move to. I told him it'd be okay for him to follow up. That would be a huge move though
jjh1119 that sounds like a lot! I'm sorry you are stressed. I cannot imagine my husband as a boss or even a coworker. T&p for your cousins baby as well
I'm on mobile so it's hard to tag, but I'm reading and celebrating/commiserating along with you all!
Got out of the house for a couple of hours and got my hair cut. It had been about 5 months so it was definitely time. It wasn't the first time I've left LO but it still felt strange. I honestly never thought I'd have such a hard time being away from her.
I hear you guys on trying to do a deep clean while on leave. I'm headed back next Wednesday and we've got appointments on Monday and Tuesday so it looks like this weekend is it. I'd say there's a 50% chance the cleaning gets done. Oh well!

Austin is a awesome town, one of my all favorites! People are soo nice in tx it's refreshing! I moved to sfl from houston and cried a few times bc people were SOOO mean for no reason! LA to Austin isn't that bad, we moved from FTL to Seattle in August (6+ months pregnant)!
