This may be a stupid question...

So far I've got two EDDs. Fertility Friend has me at Nov 8th, but calculations on my LMP are showing Nov 5th. I'm leaning towards the FF date just because it's got all of my information in it. I wanna know which ticker change I'm in! My first OB appointment isn't until the 16th

I'd say that the FF date is the accurate one. However, in my experience, my doctor wouldn't change my EDD that was based on LMP unless my calculated O date was significantly off (not a few days) from day 14.

In my first two pregnancies, the discrepancy hurt me because I O'd on day 17-18, and ended up being induced with my 2nd, so I would have loved an extra few days. This time around, I O'd around day 12, so I'm okay with the later due date in case induction ends up on the table.

I would go with FF until you have a dating ultrasound. I'm personally going with my FF date because my LMP date is November 1st and I know I O "late."

Thanks ladies! I O'd on day 18, which from what I can tell is pretty typical for me. With my loss history induction will most certainly be on the table, so it'll definitely be something to talk to my OB about. Thanks!

GL to you! I do love my ob, but the fact that he wouldn't switch it after the dating ultrasound (which was measuring exactly with my calculations- 3 days "early") was a little frustrating. He said that a few days was not a big deal, and people often miscalculate their O date, which is true, but....
If I'd O'd late again this time, I was planning to just fib about my LMP date. I don't normally condone tactics like that, but I'm still convinced that my son would have come on his own within 2-3 days from when I was induced (I was induced at 10 days late, no medical reason to other than being late)

I O'd on CD 26... So 12 days late. I really hope my midwife will go by that and not LMP. I really don't want to be induced for being "late"...

I Od on CD 29, which gave an EDD of November 3. At my first appointment they used LMP and gave me an EDD of October 20. Yaa. I'm just waiting out the dating ultrasound now. I don't believe I'm due that early.

If you are that off, surely they will adjust after a dating ultrasound. I wouldn't worry too much! Mine switches the dates if you are off by more than 4-5 days I think....

The ob world will only change your edc if it's +/- 7 days in the first tri. Otherwise they will always go off your lmp. If you don't get an u/a until second tri I think it has to be more than a 10 day difference to change. (Since second tris are slightly less accurate for dating)

Well this is good to know. I was thinking my doctor would adjust by a couple of days (I'm only off by 2). I guess in the big picture those two days don't really matter.

I think thats exactly why they don't change things for a few days in either direction. Since only something like 5% of people deliver ON their due date, its basically an estimate anyway.

I just told the receptionist when I called to consider me X weeks and X days. I o'd on cd 29 and when she asked for my LMP, I told her my cycles were in the 50 day range and I told her based on adding two weeks before O. She took it. She didn't ask to clarify the actual date of the LMP or anything after that.
