Thankfully I have the day off today. We are going to get the car seat and bases installed today. Does anyone know if you have to attempt it or can you just take it to the fire station and have it done? I just want to make sure I do the right thing!
You can do it and let them check it. DH installed ours and took it to a fire fighter friend who inspects yesterday. I got in the car to go to work this morning and had a freak out moment when it hit me that I have a car seat in the back of my car!

aggiebug I would wash on delicate if that's possible and then air dry.
I'm off work today and getting my hair done. If I feel real ambitious I will shop for DH's birthday present since we could have a baby by then (that's a freaky thought). I'm thinking of making him a hospital entertainment basket thing with snacks etc. Is this a terrible idea or somewhat good I can't decide.
I slept pretty well considering all the contractions. Woke up about 6 this morning and had several very strong ones. But they went back to light contractions. No hospital for me today. I'm going to try and get some housework done so I'll stop focusing so much on the contractions. But now I'm very nauseous.
I hope everyone else is doing well. I'm watching the birh announcement thread because were all getting so close and I know some people are getting induced.
I'm off today! My mother is coming in this weekend so I have to get some serious cleaning done to my house. At some point I also have to go to the grocery store.. Poor H and DS have been living on takeout for the last few days :/ FFMC? I wish I hadn't said my mom could stay with us this weekend. She is coming under the pretense of visiting DS but then made plans with everyone under the sun. I feel like she's just using us so she doesn't have to get a hotel. DS is going to cry most of the weekend because she'll be in and out of the house and I know she won't offer to take him anywhere with her.
Good morning! No school today, but also no sleeping in because my hips hate me. It should be a day of getting things done, but that usually turns into a day under a blanket with the dog watching HGTV... We'll see what happens!
Random funny: when I tell my classes that February 20 should be my last day for the year, the first question that gets asked is, "are you retiring?" Psh, not for 20 more years, my dears.
Missed everyone over the weekend but I don't know how to use this forum on my phone so I will be on hiatus during the weekends (and probably when this LO is born too!)... slept like HELL last night, literally the worst night of sleep I've had all pregnancy... My cat has an upper respiratory I think (he gets them every winter) and the poor thing literally sneezes at least 20 times every time he sneezes once... this happened on top of my head 4 times throughout the night...
If that wasn't enough, I was up from 1-4 w the intense fear of vomiting everywhere. I don't feel sick, just feel like it's just chillin' right at the bottom of my esophagus and if I roll the wrong way it'll all come out ... Oh also, DH's brother decided that 1:30 AM was the best time to return a text so I got to listen to DH's phone going off while he, of course, slept through it like a rock...
And to top it all off, I'm pretty sure my cats are under the impression that I'm getting ready to go into labor (which I actually find terrifying since you know they say that animals know these things), as all three of them sat directly on top of me last night making it really hard to sleep even if I didn't want to puke...
Also thedish... tha fuck! Teens?! God now you have me even more terrified!!!
First day of mat leave and thank god bc I was awake for 2 hours last night and spent most of that time on the toilet...ugh. I've got to tidy the whole house today since the cleaning lady is coming tomorrow!
There's 3 pages of spam and it's 7 in the morning! Yay! The vipers and sweethearts are back! Take that, TB!
I'm going to have to go back through and read them all later as I have the midwives coming for my home visit in a few hours and I still have a few places to clean so as to pretend to be a good respectable housekeeper.
And ChickenOnSunday I hope you feel better and that it is or isn't your waters breaking (based on what you want it to be). Wow I can be wushu washy even in my desires for others' happiness, lol!
Have today off and will be spending it doing a ton of laundry and making maternity plans! Hard to believe that I will be done working in 1 month! My BFF threw a shower on Saturday for me and it was awesome. I still have 2 more in the next 3 weeks. Hope I can have everything put away and organized before I go into labor!

Spam: well thanks Today for doing a piece on NILMDTS and having me ball my eyes out. To those that have lost a LOs my thoughts and prayer go out to you. I'm sure it is hard. Now back to crying.

., I didn't want to clog the GTKY thread, but my husband loves Italo Calvino. He keeps on encouraging me to read him, but I just haven't gotten around to it. "If On a Winter's Night a Traveler" is on our bookshelf, though; with a second rec, I'm putting it on my shortlist.

Also might be a stupid question but the seatbelt installation for a car seat is just as safe as the latch system right? I drive an '08 escape and in the middle there are no latches so it would have to be seat belt installed. The car manual didn't indicate what should be done or where the next safest place was after the middle. I also have my nephew in the car with me sometimes(rarely) and his convertible seat won't fit with the infant seat in the middle. Therefore when I pick him up I would have to uninstall the infant seat and reinstall two car seats one on each side. Normally I just leave the convertible installed all the time so I don't have to mess with it. What would be better: baby behind passenger and convertible behind me at all times or baby in the middle and when I pick up nephew rearrange the whole car?
Phew sorry that was long winded but it's what kept me up last night
lizjennings81 Yesss, do it! It's the first book in a long time that sucked me right in, with how crazy it is. It's an experience - it's like it's not even about the story. I hope you like it!
My husband said the same thing about Calvino's "Cosmicomics." I've been looking for a book like this – I don't know why, but my reading is so stunted right now. I'm reading "Augustus" by John Williams and it's good, but I wouldn't classify it as an experience. The last book I read like that was "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. Here's to reading some Calvino next!

Check your car manual, they should be able to tell you the best placement for the infant seat. I was surprised that mine actually said either side is better than the middle. If yours says the same then your problem might me solved! If you don't have your manual any more you should be able to google it and find it on line.

Speaking of animals, my three cats have been following me around the house the past few days. If I leave the computer room to go lie down in the bedroom, they all end up in there like they're keeping an eye on me. And Nox, my one cat that never sleeps in bed with us, has been jumping into bed to lay down next to me when I go relax in bed before DH joins me to sleep. It's kind sweet and unnerving at the same time...
Got the mouse last night, so the morning started on a positive note, but with the rain, I've got the influx of water still. It would be nice if they'd at least start working on the roof before Surprise gets here.
DH is still liscense-less and it's now really starting to bug him. I know it will complicate getting home from the hospital, but we'll deal.
I think our girls' rugby efforts are going to pay off soon and I'm really excited. We had 10 girls last week, about 8 yesterday, and they all have the option to train with the national team during the week and I think a few are taking advantage of that. My friend and I might have managed to kick off a national sports program!
I'm off to lunch soon with everyone at the museum.

Morning ladies,
I actually slept in til 9. That was nice. DH is working today but he's home so not a big deal. And it lets me watch stuff on Netflix that I want to watch all day. ? (first up season two of the fall)
37 weeks today. Ah! That's just crazy to think.
Just need to hang a few more things in her nursery but then we are done. Might see if DH will work on that today.
Had a hair appt at 3 but got a call that she cancelled because she was sick. Boo! I wanted to do it today and get it done! And not have to fit it around work. I literally haven't gotten it cut since July.

Happy Monday everyone. Yay for everyone who is off today, hope you can enjoy it/get done what you need. I am off too but woke up with a cold. Guess it will be a lazy day on the couch for me.
