calimomof1 I cook with coconut oil sometimes - I sauté veggies in it for a coconut curry, add to oatmeal with shredded coconut, add it to smoothies. I love this recipe for coconut bars: chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/08/30/no-bake-coconut-crack-bars/. I melt dark chocolate and spread it over the top. Definitely NOT low-cal but so delicious!
You can also use it as a skin moisturizer or hair conditioner, though I find it too greasy.
ladybird Good luck tomorrow. I just wrapped up day 2 of being back and it hasn't been terrible. Seeing LO's big smile when I pick her up is seriously heart warming!
I swear LO smiles at the boob now. She hasn't really done this before, but now that she's been getting more bottles I think she's giddy about the boob lol.

millm0m, lucky! M has taken to fussing at my boob. No matter how happy he is, he starts yelling when I put him in position to nurse. He loves nursing, so I guess it's the anticipation that's killing him?
millm0m my LO gets so excited for the boob she grins and screams and flails her arms around when I get home from work. Adorable yet awkward. Hope she doesn't take to doing this in public! So cute your LO gets so happy too!
jfh what a cute little guy!! Happy birthday to him!
Conversation with the daycare lady went well. She admitted she fed LO 5 oz to fatten her up (I think it's a generation and cultural thing). Today she fed LO the requested amount.
I think that we enjoyed the level of detail the previous daycare provided and not everyone does that.

Ok...the nanny left out some of my milk today. At 1:45pm. I noticed it on the counter at 6:30pm. It was pumped either this morning or yesterday and refrigerated. Should I toss it? Keep it? It doesn't small bad, but it doesn't smell...fresh. Ugh. 1.5 oz...easily 1-2 pump sessions for me :-(

I might be in the minority here but I'd be inclined to keep it as long as the room temperature wasn't overly warm. And you could mix it with fresher milk tomorrow for taste. The Medela guidelines say up to 6 hours for room temp—you're within that...

Me for the win tonight. I have this habit of screwing around with Pips soothe when not in use. I suction. It to things, like my chin for some reason... I totally gave myself hickeys tonight... What's worse, they look like thumb prints. I have one on either side, and one in the center of my chin. Pips has a doctor appointment tomorrow and make up isn't helping! DH can't look at me without laughing his ass off.
Oh, goody. A fever to go with my head congestion. I've only been back to work for two days, telling me that whatever this is was gotten last week as I was running around doing errands.
What is excessively warm? It was probably low 80's and according to my Nest, house got up to 74. I looked again online, they say you don't have to throw it out unless it smells rancid...and it doesn't! Gonna check again this AM before I make the call! Thanks gldnbearz and ladybird!
