I'm up bright and early to drive in to yet another 1 hour meeting on my day off. I commute 35 min both ways and have to pay my mom, so I will lose money. Oh well! At least when I get home at 9:30 I get the rest of the day to love on my girl.

I wish my commute was 35 minutes!! Just finishing the second leg of mine....almost 2 hr mark. Snuggle that baby like crazy when you get home!! Fingers crossed for DH today......he has 2 potentially life changing interviews today!! And fingers crossed that I can stay awake at my desk...LO was a rip last night. Up and down from 2-4:30. Mommy is a sleepy girl.
I haven't been posting much lately because we have been so busy with our families the past few days. Our weather has been wonderful so we have been out and about with Coop as much as we can.
I made another batch of lactation cookies but this time used peanut butter M&M's. Life changing decision! So good. I've been making little batches for all of my new mom friends!
Good morning ladies! Hoping for good and fast commutes for everyone, one of the reasons I've stayed at my job for so long is how close it is to my house (10mins) and our daycare is right across the street from the office. (Not to brag!)
Libby have a good day, just think of those sweet baby snuggles to get you through!
littleapplemom good luck to your H, hope the interviews go well!
rosieb0514 I really need to make some lactation cookies, peanut butter you say?? Yummy! My lo was wide awake and talking away at 4am this morning...so cute it is totally worth being tired all day
They are easy and so worth it kfaye! Fenugreek wasn't agreeing with me, but I kept taking it to boost my supply. Then it started messing with DS and making him extremly gassy so I decided to ditch it. I really feel like the cookies and smoothies help!
I avoided getting sick my entire maternity leave, until now. Nasal and sinus congestion and no Sudafed for me.
LO's first day at the new daycare moved was... interesting. She normally eats three 4 oz bottles in the time she was gone. I leave a 4th just in case. Instructions are 2 oz pumped BM and 2 oz formula. Two of the feedings, she got 5 oz. We also don't know how much she napped. The last daycare logged naps.
I think as a consequence of new changes, LO's routine was all goofy last night. She fussed, took 1/2 hour cat naps, and didn't take her evening bottles with as much gusto.
Getting my morning pump in - after my 15 minutes to the sitter's and then 45 minutes to work! I have considered a closer job, but this one is actually pretty sweet. I hope everyone has a totally terrific Tuesday!!

Libby- hope your meeting goes by fast so you can get those sweet snuggles littleapplemom- that is a long commute! rosieb0514- I haven't had a chance to make my cookies yet but this post makes me want to try. gldnbearz- good luck with the talk. You know what works for you and LO. zengal- I used to have a 45 min commute. Some days I loved it. It was great to have the time to unwind on my way home. I also bought french lessons on cd and listened lol or blasted the music and sang the whole way home.

kfaye, jealous!! rosieb0514, I haven't made cookied yet but I've been eating everything that goes in them (I think)! Fenugreek in my tea, flax seed in my oatmeal. Brewer's yeast tabs. But who can go wrong with cookies?! If I put any form of PB though, DH will eat them all. gldnbearz,a talk definitly seems in order.

1st pump at work. Switched up DS' s bottle amounts. He was only getting 3oz of BM when MIL watches him. He was rating every 2 hours. I made his bottles 4.5 oz to see if we can get longer stretches between. She is also taking him to the mall today. She is walking there because it is beautiful out and we live 5 min away from the mall
What a rough start to the day. Pretty sure DH got up on the wrong side of bed. He's super frustrated that we aren't in a morning routine. Guess what? I am too! But I'm doing the best I can. This morning he got frustrated because LO was eating when the alarm went off at 6:15. Usually I take the first shower but he ended up taking it this morning. He said that he'd rather give LO a bottle in the morning so that I can shower first and get ready and be on my way. A bottle. A BOTTLE! For someone who is struggling to up her supply, and who actually has a great supply in the morning, this is NOT an answer! Lately his solution to everything is to give her a bottle. It's so irritating! Thanks for letting me vent during my morning pump! Going to leave the house soon and probably won't even get to kiss LO's sweet cheeks before leaving. Is it 5 o'clock yet?
Dropped my boy off for his first day at daycare this am. I did good, only a few tears, and I got it together before getting to work. It does feel pretty good to be at work to be honest, and it will make me appreciate my days home with him even more!
I have modified the recipe, if I don't have M&Ms I use chocolate chips, and this most recent time I put in peanut butter M&Ms. SO GOOD! I'm going to try a Chocolate Chi recipe next. I'll post that one if it's any good!

zengal, my sickness is also making me sound like a man. Tried singing "You are my sunshine" to LO last night before bed and he just kind of gave me this look like "who are you?". Healing vibes for you!
npg1982, our first day was yesterday and I can already say that today was so much better. It feels easier after seeing that he came home in one piece yesterday.
calimomof1, I hope your day gets better! DH waking up on the wrong side of the bed is such a crappy way to start.
I don't know about everyone else, but this warmer weather where I live is causing some major allergies to start up. I was looking forward to spring, but now I'm hoping all the plants will just go back to sleep.

calimomof1, I have to admit I get a little ragey at DH if he mentions getting a bottle for MOTN or AM feedings.....I'm not eating all this oatmeal and getting up to pee a million times from drinking all the water for nothing!! Happy pumping!
rosieb0514 I need to make some cookies for sure! The weather has gotten us out much more than usual as well! Glad you are enjoying!
kfaye that would keep me at my job too! Why do the babes have to be so happy and smiley in the am?! Makes it harder to leave!
gldnbearz that sucks. I hope you feel better soon!
zengal I totally sang that to Piper when she wasn't feeling well haha
songbirdsinging55 I'm thinking of switching her bottle amount too since she is doing 1 decent stretch at night 4-5 hrs. Wondering if she may start to need more!
calimomof1 I would be frustrated as well. My parents always suggest formula when she isn't sleeping well. That isn't going to help, people! Feel free to vent! Nothing makes me more upset than someone not understanding how much work breastfeeding is and how much I WANT to do it!! I would be even more hypersensitive if I was battling supply issues. You are doing great mama!
npg1982 I know I needed the water proof mascara! Good luck today!

Last night I had to go to a meeting at my daughters' preschool, and it was awesome to get out of the house by myself for a little while (I was gone about an hour and a half), although I did feel really bad when I got home and LO was crying her eyes out. She really doesn't like to have anyone else hold her for any length of time, and I really hope she gets past this quickly. I've barely been able to put her down today, but right now she's on her playmat while DD1 entertains her, and I keep hearing giggles so I think that's going well. I love how good my older kids are with their baby sister.
rosieb0514, I'm definitely going to have to try those cookies!
Last night, DD would NOT go down in her pnp until 5:30 this morning! I'm not sure what her deal was other than that it was kind of a busy/loud evening and she was just pretty unsettled from it all I think. On the bright side, I got the job! I'm super excited! The pay and insurance won't be quite as good, but it's more of a day shift (3 am - 3 pm) than the night shift I currently work, and is so much closer to home. Bonus: I'll be working in the same building as DH. We'll be on different, but overlapping shifts, so maybe sometimes we can grab a snack together or something. Since it's with the same hospital system as what I'm currently working, I only have to wait 2 weeks until the end of this schedule and then I can start at my new position!
When I got home from the interview, DH and I were really happy, and I think that DD caught the sense of excitement and she gave her first real giggle. It was so cute!
I'm out running a few errands on my last day of maternity leave. I want to get done and get home to hang out with LO but a pedicure (among other things) is necessary. LO seemed like she was having a great time with our sitter so I'm grateful for that. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that by this time tomorrow, I'll have already been at work for a few hours.
Today is DS1's birthday! Here's my sweet boy. Three years old. I love him so much. He's at preschool today but we're having a big brunch party on the 22nd.

jfh happy birthday to your boy! What a cutie! Can't believe my LO will be that size in just a few short years.
Thanks for letting me vent earlier. DH admitted that he didn't sleep well and he apologized to me. We've been on different pages lately and not communicating well...we both need to work on that! At least we talked about it
I've made lactation cookies (have some in the freezer that I need to bake!). Question for you ladies: what can I do with coconut oil? I have a huge jar of it because I had to use it while LO's lip and tongue tie procedures were healing. I've heard it's good for supply, too, but not sure what to do with it!
