STM+ - is there anything you plan to do differently?

Having BTDT, is there anything you plan to do differently with this baby?

Example: Try BLW with this kid, but you did purees with your first. Or you're going to give babywearing a shot. Maybe you're absolutely refusing to share a room with a noisy newborn this time around.

Chill out! I spent a lot of time worrying is this right, don't do that it will creat bad habits, blah, blah, blah. But with a 2 year old around I'm not sure I'll have the time to worry as much.

Stress less and maybe make our own baby foods if I can. My other two are only 11 months apart so I was is "survival mode" for a long time. It was more about getting through the day then.

I plan on just going with the flow. He'll let me know what he needs. With my first I was so worried if I was doing everything the right way. I've finally learned, there is no right way. With DD2, I was so much more laid back, plan on being the same way this time. Have you all seen the Luvs commercials comparing first babies and second babies? I love those commercials and they're so true!

My plan is to not be such a freaking basket case about everything this time. I was so paranoid about the "what-if's" with DS that I feel like I didn't get to truly enjoy a lot of the time with him as an itty-bitty.

This time I plan on not being so worried and to try to relax a little more. And to be better about pumping before I go back to work.

I'm going to try to make my own baby food this time and I won't be suckered into co-sleeping again... I was an accidental co-sleeper with my first and it was hell for a while... Other than that I have no idea what I'll do differently

I'm going to chill out on feeling the need to do *stuff* on a daily basis. I'm not the best at resting, and I feel like I wasted a lot of time cleaning my house and doing other dumb chores that were not really necessary while on maternity leave.

So this time, I plan to fully embrace my DVR queue, only do chores/errands/clean two days a week and just enjoy the time I have at home with my kids.

I'm going to shower more frequently! Haha.
I seriously felt like I couldn't unless DH was home to watch DS.

This time, if I have to, I'll put DD in the RNP in the bathroom and bring DS into the shower with me.

I am going to be (try to be) less obsessive about how much or little this baby is eating. DD was a terrible eater and I made myself crazy over it but everything was fine.

I'm going to try not to co-sleep. Not that it didn't work out well for us but DD was in bed with us a long time and I'd like to get back to regular sleeping sooner this time.

I'm going to try baby wearing this time around and I'm hoping and praying I will be able to breast feed! The twinkies (DD's) were premature and were never able to latch on so I had to pump. I'm also thinking of making my own baby food but who knows about that. I've also managed to come up with a giant stockpile of diapers at .15 cents a diaper or less instead of paying an arm and a leg on every box of diapers.

Not going to stress out about breastfeeding. I was unsuccessful last time and i had a lot of guilt and tears over it during all my efforts. Some bodies are just not able to so I'm not letting it bring me down this time around.

I plan on taking better care of myself. I have always been pretty relaxed about parenting and been good about trusting my instincts but there were times when I definitely put everyone else's needs in front of my own and suffered because of it. I'm going to say "no" to visitors in the first few days and "yes" to any offer of help!

I know that I didn't buy a lot of things that I found useless with DD. I'll probably do things the same, depending on how he responds. I ended up with a pretty rounded & behaved kid, I only hope I can get so lucky again!

Not much new

This time around i'll be OK throwing in the towel sooner on breast feeding if its just not working out. With DD I ended up in tears at 3am over it.

I'll also not bother making baby food this go round (might be just my cooking) but DD liked store bought food and not whatever I made her.

Not stress over every little thing and breastfeeding longer

Not stress about everything being like the "baby book says." I wrote down BF times to the minute, had intense anxiety if he cried while I showered at a few days/weeks old since he couldn't self-soothe and was an overall unpleasant, anxious mess.

This time I'm planning to co-sleep from the beginning with no guilt. With DS it started because it was the only way he would sleep and I stressed out about it way more than I needed to. Co-sleeping has a lot of benefits and is done safely all over the world. I got a lot of negative feedback with DS and everyone had me worried about rolling over on him.

I am also going to try and not stress about breastfeeding and not be afraid to give it up if it's not working. I had a terrible experience last time with literal scars to prove it and still had so much guilt over switching to formula feeding that I sunk into depression.

I am also hoping to avoid co-sleeping this time around. DD1 was a great sleeper and we never had any problems. With DD2 I was totally caught off guard. She was a terrible sleeper! She had bad reflux and was just generally fussy at all hours (day and night). We ended up co-sleeping by accident. It was definitely a survival thing for us and I still believe that it was the only option to get us through a very rough period but I do NOT want a repeat.

I'm going to try and babywear at least the first few months. I'm also going to try my hardest to bf longer. I ebf until 5 months, then supplemented until 6 months. I'd really like to make it to 7-9 months.

I did that with my first two. DS was in his high chair in the bathroom with a few Cheerios and DD was in her bouncer.
