Hey ladies! My ER is scheduled for this Wednesday. I am curious on how much time you took off work for your ER and ET? I currently have 1 day off and that's the day of ER. I have enough vacation to take additional days if necessary. I work in an office setting.

As of right now I only took the day of my ER off. My ET falls on a Sunday, so I didn't have to worry about that. I'm hoping I'll be okay to go into work the day after my ER, I work at a desk all day. I figure if worse comes to worse I'll work a half day.
Well from my personal experience I literally slept about 6 hrs after ER (took a pain pill that made me spin and throw up etc) and the next day I was still very tender and wanting to rest so I would have taken 2 days off. ET was easy and I rested after the transfer and most of the next day as well. Again, due to meds - they gave me valium on the day of ET and I think that it just lingered in my system and I just felt pretty groggy. I work from home but if I was still working in an office I would say 2 days for each just to be really good to yourself, if possible. Good luck!!
I was supposed to take off ET day, too, per RE's instructions. I was supposed to be on bed rest that entire day. But I've seen a lot of variation on REs policies post-ET. Seems like there's some who say bed rest and some who say that you should do whatever you like to regularly do within reason.

My ER was on Thursday and I'm off until next Monday. I don't really need that much time though. At a minimum I would take off the day of and the day after ER, then the day of ET.

My RE said day and day after both my ER and ET. I'm going to play it by ear though. If I can make it into work a few hours on the day after ER, I'm going to try to go. I figure that I'm not PUPO at that point, so it's just about my pain level at that time.
I think it depends on how you are feeling. I had a mild case of OHSS and needed to take cabergoline and that made me horribly sick and dizzy. That was much worse than the actual ER. With the meds I couldn't sit or stand for too long without feeling super dizzy. If you're feeling okay and your RE is okay with one day off I would do that. I would really listen to your body though, it's being put through a lot of stuff right now.

Definitely take the day of ER off but by the next day you should be feeling fine. I took the day of ET off but not on doctors advice (she said do whatever) but because I knew it would be a long appointment (and it was we waited forever) and I wanted to relax.

My ER ended up being this past Saturday, and I was so glad I had Sunday to recover (I was originally only planning on day of ER off). I was still feeling very tender yesterday, but felt well enough to get my butt into work today.
My RE "recommends" 72 hours of modified bed rest after ET. When I asked about it, he said there is no medical literature to support taking that time off, and that I was more than welcome to take time off or not. Since my ET is at 10:30, I think I'm going to plan to work from home the day of ET (soooooo thankful that my boss allows this as an option) and play it by ear for Friday.

Take the next day!! I went to work and physically felt fine, but waiting for that first fert report and getting it at work was some kind of torture!! You will be an emotional hot mess and unable to concentrate on anything.

My first cycle, I felt basically normal the day after ER, other than some mild tenderness. My second cycle, I was in pain and needed to rest the day after. I really think it depends on the cycle and the individual. Hopefully, you'll feel fine the next day, and you can save your days off for ET or whatnot. I haven't done ET yet -- but I think the general idea from most docs is some sort of rest at least the day of transfer.
Thanks everyone for all of the feedback! I think I am going to continue to play it by ear and see how I feel late in the day after the ER to decide if I need another day off or not. I will just make sure to keep my work calendar relatively clear on the day after ER just in case. Thanks again
