I've been thinking about this name lately and wondered what's your initial reaction?
I've heard people say "oh you're tempting fate if you name your kid Job," and crap like that, but when I look at the story of Job, I just see a man of unwavering faith.
I like the way it sounds with our ln, too which is hard to find.

I don't know the particulars of the story, but my first reaction was definitely that it was a biblical name. NMS, but at least it's different and not made up.
I agree that the story isn't a great link and I also am just not a fan of the name. I would also like to believe most people would pronounce it properly.....but I would probably find myself disappointed.

I don't like it. I think it's going to be pronounced like "occupation" by everyone even though it's a recognizable name and once heard people will instantly get it.

I'm religious and the first thing I think of when I hear Job is that he was a man that is to be revered because of his strong faith. Tempting a child's fate would never come to mind. I LOVE Job.

This. I don't recognize the name or know how to pronounce it.

I am not religious now but as a child Job was my favorite story. It isn't a name I would personally use just because I hate stupid people that pronounce it wrong.
I persoanlly don't know the story behind Job-- I just know it's a biblical name.
I do think you will have mispronunciations.
If you like the idea of a little used biblical name, I would chose another one. Boaz? Asa?
This is pretty much how I feel.
I don't know the story or who Job was. I know that it is not pronounced like job, but I still think "job" whenever I see it. I do think there will be mispronunciations, but that happens with a lot of names, so you just have to decide how you feel about that.
