We have the swaddle me's for DD, but she is starting to get her arms out of them. She still definitely needs to be swaddled though. Which swaddle blankets did you all use? How long did you have to use them? I have friends that say the zippity zip is awesome, but they don't recommend that until around 5 or 6 months.
We have a set of Aden and Anais swaddle blankets, but tend to use a Velcro swaddler from Target most nights. It's easier to put on and stays on better through LO's Houdini moves.
I had a Wombie brand (I think that's how it's spelled) it zips up, so it's pretty escape proof.
Edit: We ditched the swaddle around 3-4 months because he just couldn't stay in it, and he never liked the velcro or zipper ones. I got the Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit. It was amazing, but it was not easy to break him of it when he started to grow out of that.

I used the swaddleme until DD was 5 months or so. Do you have the small size right now? I moved her to the medium when she was 3 months I think bc she was breaking out too. Then I finally had to break her of the the swaddle when she was rolling over. Desperate I got the zippy and it worked great. Sorry I didn't really answer your question I loved the swaddleme I've heard the miracle blanket is good but never tried it.

Yeah, we are still using the small. I think it actually says small/medium, but we do have a large one... I'll try moving up a size. Thanks!

We used SwaddleMe. First S / M then M / L. We ditched cold turkey around four months when he decided he wouldn't sleep unless it was on his tummy, (he learned to roll & it's the only way he would sleep after that, until this day).

Yeah it's a large we switched too. Couldn't remember the sizes, GL!

We ended up switching from Swaddleme's to A&A swaddle blankets. They are a few inches bigger than most swaddle blankets so we were able to get a tighter swaddle. You could always try a double swaddle by wrapping swaddle #1 to the left and #2 to the right, just don't dress her as warm at night.
The ones with the zippers that go all the way up and keep them in a "pod" work way better than the Velcro for bigger babes. I couldn't ditch the swaddle until after 6 months, so I was swaddling a very mobile and large baby. The swaddle me was very easy for him to get out of.
I also like the ones you could zip up like a blanket and then the Velcro flaps went over that and you could later make it a wearable blanket. Lo hated the wearable blankets.
I think this is one of those things where folks are going to say what worked for them- but we had to try several brands and sizes to get the right thing for us.

I didn't like the ones with velcro because they were so loud when I was trying to change a diaper in the MOTN and I didn't want him waking up fully. We used the A+A blankets and then went to sleep sacks around 4 months. He always figured out how to get his arms out so we finally embraced it. We still use sleep sacks with no issues even though he moves and stands up in his crib.

^^^ Us too. Although, I don't think the sleep sacks are supposed to stop them from rolling or standing, they're more just for the warmth, without having to put lose blankets in the crib with them.

Yeah the A+A blankets she gets out of as well... Thanks for all the suggestions! I am trying the larger swaddle me today for naps, so we will see how it goes.
We use the "love to dream" lo loves it. Velcro was to easy for her to break. Sleeps like a champ ... **knocks on wood**
Jealous-- DD has not slept through the night since the screaming terror fit that occurred our last wine night.
I just up-sized the blankets that we used... I have mastered a fold and tuck behind her back technique that has seemed to work. I've never heard of most of these recommendations... I should have asked this question earlier!
Now at 3.5 months she is starting to try to roll on her side in the middle of the night. I stopped swaddling about 4 nights ago and it hasn't seemed to make a difference so I will likely just drop it.
@narbuckle your lo might be going into the four month wakefuls early. This is kinda when their minds develop and "wake up" and it means hell for sleep. Some babies that sttn are going to start waking, or for LOs like mine that were waking 2-3 times anyway, he started waking every hour for several weeks. Since I didn't train until 6 months per the AAP recs, I basically had to suffer through it.

becole- that is definitely what I attributed it too. She is down to only 1 wake up now which is totally manageable. And actually it is almost impossible to get her all the way asleep anymore before I lay her in the crib. The past week or so I just get her drowsy, lay her down, and she talks or fake cries herself to sleep after about 3-5 minutes.
