DD is using her letter magnets that we got a couple years ago and spelling words. She laid out c-a-t then did d-o-g And told me what each spelled! She's now moved on to singing the bubble guppies theme song

Awesome!!!!
I swear the single biggest thing to help dd progress in therapy was learning to read. It helped her learn to put together sentences, answer questions teachers asked, helped with wh-questions, etc.
Great so long as it doesn't trend into a special interest that replaces play.
So far so good she will do letters at school or when we work on it at home and do her letter app at times but generally prefers to 'play' in free time. She played with the letters for about 5 minutes then got her Molly doll and sang bubble guppies then wanted to jump on her trampoline. Will definitely keep an eye on it though!

That's great.
We used to have a mom on the other forum who have a cute little blond boy who used to write letters with a finger in the air during most of his waking hours. It made her a little crazy.

If it does it isn't a huge deal. We have a shelf high up in dds room-that's where we keep the books. We use it as rewards like for sitting on the potty and she has a good chunk of time to read everyday. Otherwise if she asks we just give her other choices of play. No biggie.
