Hi all
After last week's mood swings I feel like I need a bit of support.
I am usually pretty private about my illness. I am not sure why. So this is hard.
I have chronic clinical depression which I believe is 100% linked to my brain's inability to produce seratonin. I have general anxiety disorder. I was suffering from social anxiety disorder but was able to be treated for it.
My depression is treated through medication. I am now on 13 years of taking it.
Lately I have been having spirals where either hormones affect my mood or I forget to take my meds and I am not a pleasant person to be around.
I would like to participate in the weekly check in to help me get through the harder parts of the month.

First of all, I want to say I am sorry that you are struggling, but I can assure you that you are a compassionate, supportive, funny woman that is just in need of some extra stability, accountability, and reassurance while you continue to fight your illness. I totally believe in you. I am so happy that you were able to conquer your anxiety, and it seems like your clinical depression is well under treatment. Are you seeing a therapist or psychiatrist regularly? Or possibly attending a support group? Even if you are not, they might be some things to consider, or you might find this board to suffice as well

Hi juliayadda I'm sorry to see that you are having a rough patch. However, i'm glad that you have come to this board for support. Have you been in recent contact with your doctor to ensure that your medications are at the right dose? Do you utilize pill alarms or pill boxes to decrease the likelihood of missed doses? I have to put medication in the same exact spot everyday or I will forget it. Also I second icequeen 's sentiments that are such kind and compassionate woman who is able to provide so many people on the GKU board with support; I hope we can do the same for you here.
Welcome. I'm sorry you are going through a hard time. I completely understand being very private about struggles - I'm the same way. I hope you find the support you need here.

Hi. I just started here too. Sorry you are having a tough time. Anxiety blows and it's really hard to get out from under it sometimes. Hopefully we can help each other :-)
