I did 2 things last night that dramatically increased the quality of my sleep - took my pants off -used another pillow to prop my belly I was out like a rock! Finally!
I'm the only one sitting in the waiting room for OT right now.. A lady at the desk just filled up a glass jar full of airheads. I guess I was staring super hard cause she's like "you can have as many as you'd like!" Hehe. Okay lady.
Are you the one that has the therapist who's ALWAYS super late? And came in last time saying sorry she was late but that she was busy? Still grinding my teeth for you on that one.
We always say "put them up" too. But our dog (now dogs, still haven't quite gotten used to having the second one) go in kennels so they really do kind of get put up.
Ours get put in a pen for the night, or when I am sleeping during the day. If I sleep on the sofa they (Beatrix) don't get in to anything, but if I leave them out while I sleep during the day I wake up to find DVDs eaten and garbage knocked over. The past few week we have been leaving them out when DH leaves for work and I come home. Normally about an hour or two.
Ours go in a crate too, when we're sleeping or both at work. I would like to start leaving them out while we're not home because their crate takes up so much room but every time we try it does not work out well!

Add me to the grumpy because of no sleep and being uncomfortable all night list. I'm going to try to hide out in my cubicle today. If anyone looks at me wrong, I fear the repercussions.
How do you check notifications on your phone?
And, I hate being on the west coast and waking up to 5 pages of randoms. I'm going to stay up late one night just so I can be on the first page.
jenari, I hope she gets better soon! ksmith0803, good luck today!
My random: I have my biweekly MW appointment today at 1 pm. SO has known about this appointment for two weeks. He has to go to Charlotte today to file a claim against his work (we live about 45 minutes to an hour away), and he hasn't left to go yet. That means I now have no one to watch DD while I go to my appointment, and I have no car to get there. Awesome.

I feel the same way, it takes a long time to catch up!
I just got done FaceTiming my mom. She was sitting up in their living room eating oatmeal, which is awesome because she's been in bed since Saturday when the chemo started making her really sick. Her nausea never got super bad, she's just been really, really tired. We're not really sure what to expect from this chemo, but here's hoping she's someone who can tolerate it fairly well.
Glad she isn't feeling too terrible. Prayers that it continues.
I spent my morning looking for a new job. Now is not the time change jobs, but I just can't stand what I do anymore. I feel stuck.
We had 4 contractors out to quote a bathroom remodel. One laughed at our budget of $20k and walked out, one came back at $35-40k, and the other two haven't gotten back to us in a month. I really was hoping to get this project done before the baby, but there's no way we can put $40k into a bathroom. I priced out materials and we're looking at $8k, so now DH is talking about doing it himself (I don't feel comfortable doing a lot of what's needed while pregnant), but he's busy doing all the woodwork at his parents house that his mom was convinced she didn't need to hire someone to do because she could do it herself. When DH watched her attempt to cut a piece of wood in half and almost cut her hand off, he decided he had to do it for her. At this rate, I'll see my husband sometime in December, when we'll be able to work on our own house. I swear if I hear her complain about her house not being finished or ask us when we're going to get our bathroom done one more time, I'm going to hulk smash her face.
Holy shit. We are going to start on finishing our basement soon and the full estimate for adding stud walls, two bedrooms, a storage room, drywall and paint is 5k.
Bathrooms are not something you really want to tackle yourself though sorry. How old is the house?
The house is about 60 years old. DH demo'd most of the room already, because when we remodeled the hall bath on the other side of the wall he found black mold so he took it all out at once. We DIY'd the other bathroom because we weren't moving plumbing and spend around $3k for tile, greenboard, a shower pan, and fixtures. This bathroom is much larger, we want to add a tub and move some plumbing. If I get the supplies for $8k, I figured $20 would be plenty when taking labor into account. These guys are nuts to be marking it up that much.

How did the whole first round go that you got to be there with her for? Was she so happy to have you there? Did you avoid killing anyone in the hotel room?
I might have thrown a car halfway across the room last night... DD was in her usual form and wouldn't let me up to pee, once I did she lay there sobbing and screaming and nothing DH did could fix it (he's boobless). When I got back I latched her on again and she finally was sleeping (no plans to unlatch because now I didn't have to get up) and the cat came Out of the window and ONTO HER HEAD and she rolled into the crib side and started crying, I picked the (very light) cat up and kind of flung her, she landed on another cat at the edge of the bed diagonal from where I was and they both fled the room. Less than 5 min later first cat was back Trying to climb on the windowsill again!! Gah!!
linny12 anything over 40 years might not have copper or PVC. In which case you might start changing fittings and elbows and realize that the pipe is falling apart due to rust. I dropped a ring down our sink at our old house and thought Id just open it up at the trap. I ended up having to tear out the wall to get to a decent enough spot I could put a boot in with a new pipe leading to the sink.
I'd call your local hardware (the little one, not Home Depot) and have then refer you to a different mechanical contractor.

I'm feeling just generally uncomfortable today. Like my uterus is just pushing everything up into my ribs and breathing is harder. I am just sitting here counting down till nap time.
On a happy note after googling for weeks trying to figure out the pain I was having in my lower back area. Everyone I mentioned it to just said sciatica, but the symptoms didn't match up. Turns out it's pelvic girdle pain. The pain I'm having is my hip joint popping out of place. I read up on lots of tips and tricks like holding your knees together when getting out of bed or the car and what not. And guess what?! My hip didn't fall out of place at all yesterday! Yay!

@marybeth - Glad to hear your mom is eating again, but sorry to hear about the chemo. It's horrible to see someone go through that.

The whole process itself wasn't bad at all. She just laid in a bed all day and watched tv or read while they gave her the medicine in an IV. I stayed with her the whole day and my dad watched DS. I ended up leaving shortly after her treatment and not spending a second night in the hotel. DS and I didn't get back home until after midnight, but I think we still got more rest than we would have if we stayed at the hotel.
She was really happy we were there. My dad doesn't do well when he's bored and Jack really cheered her up. We probably should have stayed the second night, but I didn't know how she'd tolerate the chemo and I didn't want to upset Jack if she got really sick and I was just totally over the crowded hotel. We've already booked our own separate room for her second treatment, so that will be better.
Here's another random. I'm wearing a thong today (maybe TMI?) and just realized that I have it on backwards which explains why it's been so uncomfortable.

We definitely want to replace the cast iron stack and upgrade the copper to a larger size for the shower. The estimate to get that done was $2,500 of the $40k. We're definitely hiring a licensed plumber and electrician because we're not comfortable doing that on our own, but demo, tile, and installing fixtures are things we can do (and have done else where) to keep costs down. The stack is actually in good shape, but we want to replace it while the walls are open rather than have an issue later and need to tear out a newly finished bathroom.
I was just shocked at the mark up for labor and supplies. We were quoted $3,500 for 72 inches of countertop, and $4k for a sink base and two 12 inch drawer bases. I can get the same counter from Home Depot, installed for $1,200, and find solid wood cabinets for much less.
jenari How long has she had the rash? When my DD had chicken pox the dots didn't turn into blisters until day 3.
Oh that's interesting! They told me the spots should be blister-like in 12ish hours if it's CP. First random spots showed up on Sunday but really it wasn't until yesterday that the rash really came out. I dropped her at daycare at 8:30 with a couple random spots and they called at 10:20. By the time I got her home at 11:30 she was pretty well covered all over her torso. From there it's spread to her arms and now working down her legs.
MH has been wanting a new (bigger) tv for awhile now. I kept saying that ours was fine and it would be a waste of money. His birthday was last week and he found a good deal so I finally relented and said I didn't mind if he got it. It's huge and I love it, but I'm pretending I don't really care.
I took a unisom last night so I could finally get some good sleep. Well I absolutely did sleep good, so good that I slept through my (loud) alarm for 30 minutes and DD missed the bus. So we went to McDonald's and ate breakfast.
We are also at McDonald's eating breakfast. I felt like getting out of the house but didn't feel like sitting outside anywhere or shelling out the $$$ for the indoor playground. So now I'm eating cinnamon melts and watching DS climb on their indoor play area. It's amazing.
