I think I was surprised, I didn't know what to expect. We never has a 3D done, so we had no reference. I think DD size is what took me by surprise, I didn't really know just how small 5lbs was.
Like slap8out we also never had a 3D ultrasound of DD . We only had a dating scan at 9 weeks and the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. During the anatomy scan she was positioned in such a way that we couldn't get a great shot of her profile, so we had little information to go off.
But I always thought she would look more like DH. I have straight blond hair and blue eyes and he has curly dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, so I assumed that his traits would dominate. Not true. She is definitely my mini me. Actually I had this line of thinking with DS too, but so far it looks like he also has the same hair and eye color as me and his sister. He's only two months so it's still a little hard to tell.

Comparing her baby pic to the 3d US, it does look spot on. But she still looked different to me than that black and white image. I think I just had a hard time really picturing what she might look like. I was just so happy she didn't have SO's nose, haha.

So much more hair then I would have imagined. And he kinda had a cone head thing for a few days which I wasn't expecting. I hope this go around baby muff has hair too.

I wasn't sure what she would look like. All I know was that when we saw her for the first time it took our breath away. We didn't have 3D ultrasounds done, but looking at one of her sonograms to her newborn pictures I can kind of see a resemblance in the profile.

We never did a 3d ultrasound. So the last look we had of DS was at our 20 week scan. I was totally expecting him to look like my husband but he looked like alot like my dad. Also I wasn't expecting him to be 10lbs.
I had a 3D done every month at MFM, so I expected the hair and HUGE head, but not her big, beautiful eyes or that she would look like DH's clone. Her nose looked more like mine in the ultrasound and she looked more like a mix.
I didn't have a 3D ultrasound so I didn't really have an idea of what he would look like. I was surprised by how much of an old man he looked like those first few weeks. He looked like Benjamin button.

Ha, that's funny. My ILs joked that DS looked like Benjamin Button when he was born. It probably didn't help that we decided to name him Benjamin too.

Both DD and DS look exactly like their profile pictures on ultrasound, which is my exact profile, same nose and lips Also in the happy they have my nose and not DH's (he is too!) club LOL
For the most part. Yes. Her face shots on her ultrasound especially of her lips were spot on. She came out with my hair color though. For some reason I thought I was pretty blonde, but in actuality I was a dirty blonde/ really light ash brown.

I was definitely surprised when he came out with a head full of dark hair! I thought he would look just like DH from his ultrasound pictures, but he came out looking just like me...neither one of us had hair as babies, so I don't know where that came from!

We never had the 3D ultrasound. DD was stuck in my canal for a long time (and actually didn't breathe after being born for 6 min!) so her head was all bruised. She also had low oxygen and was on the border of jaundice so I don't really remember her looks from the first couple days. But I have a picture of her when she was a couple weeks old where she looks just like her US picture. Her lips and cheeks are all squishy.

I kept imagining DD2 would look like DD1, and she did for the most part. Her face was a bit fatter than DD1's but they were pretty much identical.
It was funny, because the morning they did the ECV they had her on U/S to monitor her and she had the grumpiest expression on her face. DH and the MW kept talking about how grumpy she looked. When she was born she had the same grumpy expression, and still has the same grumpy expression. I think she inherited my RBF.
Never had a 3-D ultrasound done. The only good part of being so high-risk and on bedrest from 20 weeks to 36, when he came, was the weekly ultrasounds. He was more beautiful then I expected and had red hair! We'd just found out he had hair the week before. Never expected it to be red. I guess I never had a set look in my mind for him. I'm not good at visualizing people, in general.

I never had a 3-D ultrasound. I have very dark brown hair and brown eyes. My DH has brown hair, but not nearly as dark as mine, however when he was younger his hair was blond and got darker. His eyes are a hazel-brown. DS has blue eyes and blond hair. WHAT?! Both my MIA and My mom have blue eyes, so I knew it could happen, but I just really didn't think it would. I pictured a little mini-me, but not so much.

DS didn't smile for the camera or even show his face. So he was a compleat mystery. But he came over perfect and adorable,so I'm ok with the butt/back ultrasounds we got.
