How often do you wash your clothes?

Since my other very important poll of asking whether you scrunch or fold your toilet paper was brought up last night, it's time for another very important science-y, groundbreaking poll.  Just how dirty and lazy are you?

I tend to wear things at least twice before washing. Pants and jeans can go up to a week without washing.

SS most things I wash after a one time use. Jeans I will wear two times before I wash them.

Shirts after one wash because my armpits sweat so much.

Work pants I'll go 5+ days.

Jeans I'd let go more often but since I only wear them on the weekend they get washed with the weekly laundry basket so that's 2 days of wear.

SS - I honestly have no clue how often my clothes are washed. DH does the laundry and I always seem to have clean clothes.

Now I feel like a snob because I don't know.

SS - depends what it is. The majority of things I wash after 1 wear.

Things like hooded sweatshirts I was after a few wears because they don't get dirty easily.

Bras I only wash maybe 2-3 times a month so I don't wear them out.

Depends on the item as well
Shirts - after every use
Jeans - every two to three wears
Scrub pants for work - every use
jackets - when they get a stain or wet

SS: whenever they fall into my generic, not-well defined 'dirty' category. Very rarely after 1 use unless significant stain, sweat, etc. occurs. So I guess I am pretty dirty.

I'm pretty sure that I have jeans that could walk themselves. Blouses/tops/dresses, after a few wears (unless obvious stains), pjs almost never (just realizing this), but I will change my socks/chonies more than once a day and clean them every wear.

Yeah, my jeans very rarely make it into the wash.  Also, anything that is "dry clean only" basically means that it never gets washed, ever.

I wash everything after I wear it once. I'm smelly.

Except for bras. Bras never get dirty.

Yep. Unless I sweat, then more.

The materials and elastic last longer that way. I have a rotation of 5 bras that I wear on the regular, so it's not like I wear the same one every day.

Underwear and socks - every wear, sometimes change multiple times a day
Dry clean only - practically never

I'm like everybody else, it depends on what it is. I'll hang my semi dirty stuff over the side of the hamper and then once it makes it all the way in its time to be washed. DH thinks I'm crazy lol.

Jeans - when they're too stretched out or visibly dirty
Shirts - after 1 wear
Tank tops - 2-3 wears
Jackets - when visibly dirty
Socks and undies - after every wear (unless they're my wool socks those can go a couple of days)

I wash most stuff after one wear, except jeans if they are still clean and anything that is dry clean only.

So, OT but not really because it's about laundry. My husbandman really pisses me off with the way he starts the wash. He starts the water and the soap and lets it go for a few minutes so they can "mix together." As for me, I'm more of a throw everything in there, pour in the detergent, hit start and walk away kind of person. I guess I should be grateful for the fact that he does the majority of the laundry, but there's something about the way he starts it that makes me want to punch him. Am I the only person that's totally crazy?

I voted washing after 2-3 uses, but it's really a case-by-case basis.

Bras I'll wear for like a week before washing, same with pants.

Shirts/camis are almost always washed after every use.

My work clothes get washed less often than my weekend clothes, because being an accountant is such a sedentary job. I actually force myself to get out of my chair every hour an do a lap around the floor, or else I wouldn't move all day.

I do what your hubby does.  I don't really have a scientific explanation why, but it just makes me feel better.  Although I only put a little water in the bottom to do this pre-mix, then add the clothes and the rest of the water.  Now that I think about it, I guess this is pretty cray cray... 
I'd probably save a lot of time if I did it your way.

Depends on the clothes.
Jeans/pants - usually 2-3 
shirts, socks, underwear,etc... after each wear
bras depend on the season and how warm i get
pajamas usually once a week when i change my sheets

Shirts, socks, underwear, gym clothes, and anything else that got sweaty gets washed after each wear. (I sweat a lot) Jeans, bras, and sweatshirts when they are visibly dirty/smelly/stretched out.

I do it your way, but in theory i like your husbands way better its just too much of a time investment for me.  Thats funny you have such a reaction to it though!

cinnamonsugar it makes sense the way he starts it, because why wouldn't you want the soap and water to mix? But I don't know if it's the pregnancy hormones or what, but something about it just has been driving me up the wall the past few weeks!

flyster Ditto! I normally have other things I'm trying to get done. I would probably wind up starting it, walking away and totally forget to add the clothes until it's on spin cycle.

SS here as well, it depends on what it is:

Jeans: Every few weeks unless they get dirty faster than that (I hate putting them on out of the wash, feels like a damn straightjacket)
Shirts/Socks/Underwear: wash after one wear
Bras: Wash every couple of weeks

kaydee0402 I do it your husbands way, sort of. I think it comes from using powder detergent, where I'd have a pocket of powder get caught up in a fold of clothing and do weird things. I still do it with liquid though, I like knowing the water and detergent mix and don't like the idea of detergent directly on my clothes. It doesn't take me any extra time though -- I turn on the washer first, add soap, and by the time I've bent over to grab some clothes it's mixed enough. I don't feel the need to wait a whole couple minutes.

And as far as frequency, jeans can go until they are visibly dirty or smell bad. Shirts, a couple few wears, depending on sweat and spills of course. Underwear and socks one time use (though I've been known to rewear socks if needed). As far as I'm concerned bras don't get dirty. I'm sure that's disgusting, but I don't have time for delicates. Dry clean only? That's only super fancy stuff, which gets worn maybe once a year, so god knows when that'll get washed. The few dry clean things I own that aren't fancy get treated like regular clothes. So far no major casualties.
