I've given DD water in a sippy a couple of times but she has no idea how to use the spout (she's been EBF/no bottles). She mostly just throws the cup on the floor at this point!
I think the pedi said 6 months and we're not quite there yet. I will probably start him with a sippy around then with a small bit of water (or pumped BM if I have it). We use the straw sippy cups so we'll see if he figures it out easily or not.

We haven't started yet, they are 6.5m and just starting solids. My older DS never really figured out sippies or straws until he was a lot older (thinking closer to a year? It's a blur.) he did start getting a little water at this age though, in a bottle.
LO has tried it, but it's not something he gets regularly. If he looks like he wants my water, then I get his little sippy cup out and let him try. We use the Nuby 4 month sippy cup since it's supposed to sort of be like using a nipple.
No, the only water she gets is the runoff from her face during bath time.
Mine accidently got some in her nose the other day and all hell broke lose in th bathtub! (She leaned over to her feet and put her face in the water herself....I didn't Waterlog her while rinsing her off )
I give her a sippy cup of water to play with, but she rarely ever gets an actual sip from it. I think she just likes the handles.
This is what my DD does. I give her a supply cup with water when she's in her high chair and I'm feeding her solids, but I don't think she quite gets it yet.
