So, this morning we had our staffing meeting.
DS officially has an IEP, and the category is OHI with ADHD and the Undefined Neurodevelopmental Disorder.
He has pull outs for language arts as well as meeting with a guidance counselor 2x a month for behavioral issues. He isn't qualified to have a para though as his issues aren't severe enough to have one in place. He also is able to stay in this school.
The meeting went very well all in all, DH went with me. We have one meeting to go over his speech evaluation. The SLP didn't hand in her work on time to the district for review.
We got copies of everything, and all of the preparing made me comfortable when I got there. I'm shocked as everyone had nice things to say and both "sides" if you will seemed to be in agreement on what was happening with his education.
Glad you have some answers and a plan now. How do you feel about it? It's great that your son is "allowed" to stay at his school, but now that that is out of the way, do you still feel like it is the best place for him?

While there is no such thing as a perfect school, we are quite happy with the school he is in now.
He is happy there, and has many friends, we stay involved in activities, educationally he is on track and the ratio is low 2:19...rare for where we live unless you go private.
So far, its a nice fit. That being said its not a long term solution for our family since we live in a super tight 2/2. We make it work, however we want to find a place with a yard and unfortunately our area is more metropolis....its growing up. There are towns within a reasonable distance from our jobs that offer single family homes, but there aren't any in this district. Right now, we're here - tight for sure, but here.
