I am so incredibly sad. I was looking forward to baby wearing soooo much and LO hates it. I've bought several different types of carriers and wraps and he hates them all. He's such a chunk and would make life so much easier to just wear him. Not to mention, I would get a great workout lugging around his 17 lb behind. Eta: I want a Tula, but won't make the investment since LO hates to be worn.
Mine was the same but he likes facing out in the lillebaby carrier. Super easy to put on and take off, too!
Nothing here. I live in the middle of nowhere with a couple of red lights, a handful of stores/restaurants/other businesses and lots of trees and cows.
If it helps I am a petite person 4 ft. 9 and nervous to get something that won't adjust or fit for me. So any short mammas out there have any recommendations?
amiee I heard that Tulas, Becco Gemini's and mei tais are good for petite mamas. My friend also has a pikkolo carrier. I never heard of it but it looks like a tula and you can position baby inward, outward, hip carry and on your back safely. She's 4'11 and swears by it. Maybe your LO prefers to be more upright? It took a few times for my LO to get used to the ergo. He'd fuss for a bit each time I put him in it Now he doesn't mind it at all. Good luck!
amiee my medical records say 5'0" because the nurse was being generous... I didnt think I would like the Moby and simiar wraps because of all he extra fabric. I love my k'tan because it is based on shirt size. We also have a Bjorn one for DH and I dont think I would like to wear it at all.

A Tula would be worth the investment. If your LO didnt eventually warm up to it, you can resell it and possibly for much more than you spent. I just got my first one and my LO LOVES it and so do I. Its so comfy.
A little late to the thread but I am a huge babywearing fan! I started with a Moby and LOVE it but just recently got my first Tula. The Moby has taken a back seat due to the simplicity of the Tula and comfort. I still love my Moby and I can wrap quickly but its almost impossible to wrap without extra fabric hitting the ground so the Tula has become the new fav. Anyone debating purchasing, I strongly recommend taking the plunge. Their re-sale value is incredible so if you hate it you wouldn't lose money and most likely earn a profit on it instead. But I can almost guarantee you and your LO would love it!
I looked at the Tula, and it just looks like a ring sling. What am I missing?
And why does the resale value go up? Is it because people want a print that is no longer made? Just curious.
I think when people talk about Tulas they usually mean the more structured one they have that looks a bit like an Ergo. I think. Can anyone corroborate my guess? And I've heard of dc'd Tulas going for a thousand dollars. I can't imagine myself but I guess some people REALLY wNt certain prints.

That is correct. Tula is more known for their soft structured carriers, but they also make ring slings and wraps.
Hard to get prints have a much higher resale value, like 2-3x retail.
Yes I'm referring to the ergonomic Tula not the ring sling and certain prints can sell way above retail value and even standard prints will hold their value after being used.
