I just bought the Balboa Baby Pouch sling bc it's got the Dr Sears name on it. So far I'm no in love but we've been practicing... Kinda wishing I'd gotten a Maya Rs. Anyone else struggling to get the hang of baby wearing?
I have a wrap and an Ergo. I prefer the Ergo for simplicity. I'm not struggling to get the hang of it or anything but it's still below freezing here (eff you, Canada) so I don't take LO outside much.
I only have the Moby wrap. But I love it. I've done so many different wraps and it makes grocery shopping so much easier. He hates his carseat so if I left him in there he would scream. My MiL ordered me a ring sling but I have no idea what brand, we will have to see.
I have a boba wrap and an Ergo and I prefer the Ergo for the reasons stated above. My husband actually loves to wear little man around the house in the boba wrap and that's just fine with me.
I had quite a few different carriers with my other kids. I still used the Ergo and Mei Tai the most. This time, I mostly use the Boba, and DH uses the Ergo. I'm eyeing a ring sling and woven wrap.

Has anyone tried the Ergo360? Or any carrier where they can face out? I think that would be a good thing to try for my LO. He overheats easily when chest to chest, and he really likes to see what's going on in the world.
I'm only using the Ergo for now and I really don't use it that much yet since LO is still kind of small. I didn't get an infant insert for it and have been trying the rolled up blanket trick, but she keeps sliding down. For the mamas who have an Ergo, have you been able to use it without the infant insert yet?

I got a K'tan and an Ergo before LO was born. Since the. I've figured out wrapping so I got the Boba wrap which fits better bc we can adjust it. The Ergo is WAY too big for LO and me so I got the Boba soft carrier which fits us MUCH better. Hoping when LO gets bigger DH can use the Ergo. I want to get something g waterproof though for the summer and the beach. Not sure what yet but I love baby wearing!
I want to babywear but I'm so overwhelmed by all the choices! I don't know where to start. I also don't want to get one and end up not liking it, they are kinda pricey. I am hoping to decide on something soon for when we are traveling in a few months. I looked online and there are no LL or babywearing groups anywhere close to me

We are using it without the insert. My LO is pretty big though, over 16 pounds and long (not sure how long exactly) but he's def just starting to fit better.
Same here. I have a big dude at 18#, 26" long, as of last Monday. No wonder my back hurts!

Do you have a Babies R Us nearby? I've been told they'll let you try out the wraps they carry.

Nope. no baby stores like that at all. My town sucks.

Well, boo.
I know it's a PITA, but at least places like Amazon have excellent return policies in case you do decide to try something out that doesn't work. Good luck! I've found wearing him to be very helpful on the occasions he tolerates it.
userdeleted - I do hip carry with babies who like to see out. It allows them to turn away/into you if they get overstimulated (which can easily happen when young babies are facing outwards). You can hip carry with an Ergo (and a 360, I think). I would only really be worried, at this stage, about spine position if forward facing - as their spine won't be in the C shape that it should be right now. Front facing is only recommended for babies 6+ months old because of the lack of spine support.
Thank you so much. That's all good info, and a good reminder about the hip carry option with the Ergo. Is that something that is acceptable as soon as they have head control, or should I wait 6 months for that, too. I like the thought of him being able to hide a bit if/when he needs to.

I can't find anything that says hip carry has to be 6+ months. Even the Ergo instructions don't say anything about head control for hip carry when they do mention it for back carry and front facing. The carrier is supporting their spine so I'd be comfortable carrying LO in a hip carry right now (and I carry her around like that in my arms anyway).

I love my K'Tan. We used it a lot around the house during maternity leave, but now that the fourth tri is over I primarily use it at the grocery store. I live the convenience but everyone stops us to ask about DS and baby wearing, especially at Trader Joes so we move through the store more slowly.
We also have a Bjorn one for DH to wear. We haven't used it much because DS is so little and fits in the ktan better. We were between the ergo 360 an bjorn one and the Bjorn one went on sale first. (The Bjorn one has been redesigned to be more ergonomic and is not prone to hip displasia)

Maybe she is still a little too small. If she's still gaining her average of .5 lb a week, she'd only be 12-13 lbs right now. I will try using a bigger blanket like Miss Killjoy said to see if that helps.

Yes it's so much easier to use I think. But like a pp said that middle strap sucks. He definitely doesn't fit with the insert anymore! picture to prove his chunk.
My favorite is still the Moby, and LO loves it, too. We just started figuring out feet out, and it's working well. It is, however, pretty warm, so we'll likely switch to the Bitybean for summer. It it ultra lightweight, waterproof (yes, you can swim in it!), super compact, and ergonomically sound. As of now, LO doesn't quite like it as well, but he settles eventually. Also, it's a Vermont company, so I like to show state pride
I'm looking at this on amazon and it's not saying that it's made for going in the water but it's machine washable which is the same thing? i'm extra interested because here in florida it's already high 80s most days and DD1 is starting to grow on pools and i'd love to be able to take DD2 in as well.
Team Boba over here. lol My bestie got it for us, and Mina loves to be snuggled up close to me when we're out and about in it (or just doing some chores at home). Really curious about the ring slings, though!
I want a ring sling now. I also really want a kinderpack. I think if I can't score a kinderpack this week, I'm going to buy a ring sling. I think I have a baby carrier buying problem, but you can't have too many baby carriers, right?
Does anyone have a Tula ring sling? Their prints are so pretty, but I was wondering how comfortable it is.

We stopped using the insert once she got control of her head plus she was already 13lbs. but the bottom padding comes out and you can tuck that in instead if a rolled up blanket.
absolutelyayrianna and anyone else looking for something to take LO swimming: Get a mesh ring sling! Absolutely water safe, adjustable, secure, and dries really fast... Plus they fold up so small they're super convenient!
I have a Boba wrap, ringsling, and a Tula. I liked the boba when she was a newborn, but it's kind of a pain in the butt to put on. The ringsling is nice, but hurts my back after a while. I love, love, love my Tula carrier though. It's super comfortable for me and for LO. She falls asleep in it every time.
ETA: Forgot we also have a baby bjorn. My husband used that in the beginning, but I'm not a fan of the way her legs dangle in it...so now he has his own Tula carrier too. He doesn't like to have to adjust the straps so it was just easier to get him his own...plus I bought both Tulas when they were on sale.
I guess they must every once in a while. A few online shops and even a local baby store were having a 10% off sale about a month ago. I bought mine online and paid $135 shipped for each of them.
I am struggling. I got a hotlsing and she just doesn't like it well. I am trying to decide what to get next. I don't want to spend a lot of money but need something easier and that allows her more freedom of movement.
