I asked on OAD about experiences with reusable training pants - ones involving a plastic cover versus ones that are 1-piece with a waterproof cloth outer layer. Input on that topic is appreciated, but the main part I want to ask specifically on this board is surrounding rigidity and sensory issues. Is the 1-piece going to be better on both of those aspects? I don't know how well the two separate layers will go over from the rigidity standpoint because undies go on as one layer of course. Also don't know if the plastic is a potential sensory issue or if it isn't that noticeable to the kid wearing. He wears undies most of the time, but will wear training pants for travel. He has a 1-piece already that is a training pants and swim diaper combo, and it is like thicker undies, so he goes fine between it and undies. We only have the one though. Need to order something today or tomorrow. The 2-piece style in store is huge, so I would have to order down a size from Amazon and hope it fits if I decide to try that route. A 4-pack of each layer comes out to just over $4 for each 2-layer pair. Not sure I even need four more. The 1-piece style in the brand we already have is on sale for $8-10 each for certain colors and sizes if I can still get the needed size in the sale colors (otherwise just under $12 each). Big price difference, but perhaps worth it for consistency, ease, buying less of them, etc? We don't want to do pull-ups because of the diaper association. Any input? TIA!
