Everyone around me has went south for Spring Break. They've found beaches and are posting them all over my FB. UO: I hate being at the beach. In fact, torture would be sitting on a beach for hours and hours in the sun watching people sit for hours and hours in the sun.

ETA: Pictures of your pretty pedicure in the sand and the beach behind you is old. Find something else to take a selfie of.... or something. Like kids puking or naked people.
yalllow, I'm with you on the beach....mostly. Yes, sitting on a beach and hanging out is just about the most boring thing I can think of. HOWEVER....I have learned that if a beach has clear water, I enjoy snorkeling. So I will go the the beach to go into the actual ocean. But to just sit around on the beach? Ugh. (Ditto "hanging out at the pool" I sunburn like a mofo and hate heat so these activities are no bueno.) (I also enjoy walking around the beach if it's not hot....specifically in California/northern california....places where it's really too rough to swim but BEAUTIFUL.)
I hate the beach, you get sand in places that really should never have sand! I like to scuba though and water sports. I do like tubing rivers, no sand and lots of alcohol
ok, so strangely I guess my UO is that I absolutely LOVE the beach! Love sitting/lazying, reading/dozing, splashing in the water, walking near the tide, etc! I haven't been in over a year and am so hoping we can make atleast one short trip work this summer. I love being all toasty and feeling the sun!
I like scuba diving too, though I haven't been in years. I can tolerate the beach for maybe 30 minutes - an hour if there is alcohol involved.
My UO is that I don't care about artificial sweeteners in soda. My super health conscious in laws were in town and I could just see them judging me and my diet coke. That's fine. Give me your side eye.

In the same vein, I don't care about organics. If I have other choice in a produce product, fine I'll go organic. Aside from that, nope. LO can eat regular produce/milk.
OK I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach. I live 5 miles from one of the most beautiful beaches in New England and just purchased my beach sticker for this season on Monday! In the winter I love taking my family including my dogs for a nice stroll on the beach where they can run and have tons of fun with other dogs. In the summer I love taking my umbrella, beach chair, cooler with lunch and beverages and music and just relaxing with my love and friends. The water is a bit cold, but on a hot day it's refreshing! Sand in places? NBD to me, they have showers at the beach to rinse off plus I can just jump in my pool or shower once I get home. I love driving home with my sandy feet in flops. Just make sure to wear lots of sunscreen and I'm golden...literally
I hate when sand gets everywhere. Especially when you are trying to eat a snack on the beach and crrrrunch yup you just crunched on some sand. I also hate how sand takes forever to dry on my feet. I'm more of a pool person definitely.
I love sitting on the beach and people watching. I don't care too much about swimming in the ocean bc I'm scared of sharks. I have to wear lots and lots if sunscreen bc I'm extremely fair and burn easily.
ooo, on the topic of sand, my UO is that I HATE sandboxes. not on principle, but because omg. sand. in the house. and everywhere. just no. also, lo ate dirt at the playground yesterday. like a big fistful right into his mouth. and I only half stopped him (me and the other moms were laughing too hard). and last, I discovered today that I kinda hate crafting. I love pinterest and all those old girl scout camp craft things, but I'm co-hosing my SIL's bridal shower and just going through the craft store....so many pretty things. so much wasted time. so little talent (me). so wishing I could just hire someone to do it all.

I don't like Easter. Not the religious meaning, just the day. I dislike pastels, I don't like Sundays and I am so over "holiday food". I wish we could have something besides the usual but I am not hosting. But I do love easter candy, easter has the best candy that you usually cannot find any other time of year....except now that cadbury eggs come out in January and there is a halloween version too.

I have another one. I hate being too warm. I don't really like winter, but as far as your internal temp just sitting around the house or whatever, I would much rather be a "cold person". At least then you can snuggle under a blanket or put on a comfy sweatshirt, but being a hot person is miserable. You're sweaty and feel nasty, have no energy, and unless you're at home it's hard to take off more layers to feel cool enough.

Yes! Me too. I would much rather have to put more clothes on or use a blanket. For some reason I feel like I'm suffocating if I'm to warm. DH thinks I'm crazy because of this.

I seem to be remembering all of the UO's stored up in my head today. I think most companies bereavement policy is shit. I realize it would be hard for a company to give weeks off, and that is what FMLA is for, but three days for an immediate family member is bullshit. It's barely enough time to plan and attend the services.
I was at a different company when my mom passed and there we got a week. Still wasn't enough, but at least then you had the week plus both weekends on each end. But three days? Ridiculous.

I'm so freaking jealous of your life right now. In a landlocked state & the beach / ocean is my favorite place ever. Remind me where you are? I'll add it to my list of I wish I lived there!
We just got back from a beach vaca - with a toddler = zero lazing & sunning but lots of play time
bennieangel, I'm on the north shore of Mass. Don't be too jealous, while I live near an awesome beach in a nice little coastal town, my life is far from something you should be jealous of! Even though I live here, sometimes it's impossible to get to the beach and every summer I find I'm mad at myself for not making it there more often!
I'm OK with trigger warnings, especially if it's about a really hard to hear subject and the thread title isn't descriptive enough, for example, a thread about a really traumatic horrible news story about violence against kids or something. A title like "this makes me so mad" doesn't really warn someone who is trying to avoid topics like that. But on the loss boards, I am really not bothered by siggy about living children or pics of their kids in the siggy. I typically don't notice them and the warning just seems to draw attention to it.
