So here's something interesting. One of my besties is a July 2015 bumpie.  Their board all did very dramatic GBCB.  She linked me one of them (which has since mysteriously vanished) that made a million good points.

These points being - the majority of the women on TB are well educated with disposable income.  At a time period they will be laying down big chunks of money for  - new homes, new cars, new furniture, etc.   They are an advertiser's dream come true.  The majority of the app users are....to put it nicely...not.

By eliminating this group of women, who bring in the advertisers, who are the source of revenue for TB, TB is shooting itself in the foot.  It does not pay to cater to the idiots.  Literally.

You are exactly right. Being that I majored in advertising... They royally fucked up with their target demo to bring in hits to their beloved app. Impressions are useless if you are not catering to the consumer who will actually buy your products. Advertisers are not the brightest when it comes to online advertising. They like shiny objects and want to see big numbers on their click through rates.
